This hotel was really great: rooms were beautiful and well equipped with all the necessary for a pleasant stay, bathroom was spacious, too, and offered all kind of toiletries, a hair dryer, plenty of towels... Breakfast was rich and offered a lot of different options: from the traditional Malaysian one (laksa, noodles, rice....) to more "international" dishes - English breakfast, toasted bread with kaya, jam, peanut butter, cereals... Location is perfect to explore the heart of Kuching, and is easily reachable also by Grabs and taxis in general. But what really stole my heart was the availability and kindness of Meritin staff. Since in Kuching there are no luggage storage options (well, I did not find any even if I tried), it was natural to ask Meritin if they could store our stuff between our two stays there (we slept here on 12th and on 14th, but on 13th night we were in Batang Ai region, taking in part in 2 days - 1 night excursions and using Kuching as our base). Not only they kept our stuff on 13th night, but they also allowed us to take our baggage there BEFORE our first booking there... on our really first night in Kuching (10th) we were staying in a different hotel and on 11th we were sleeping in Bako National Park, but Meritin allowed us to leave our luggage in their lobby starting from 10th so we could easily retrieve our baggage at the hotel after our 2 days in Bako! If it's not great service, I really don't know what I should call it! Thanks a lot, we had the greatest time here!

Bako National Park is nice but the rooms and the restaurant are really bad. 1 night is enough to see it. Kuching city is a good place to eat and visit some places such as Semmengoh. A river 1h trip on a traditional Sarawak boat is nice too at sunset. Longhouses are not worth the visit if you don't have much time.

Perfecto lugar para usar como "campamento base" y disfrutar de los parques naturales cercanos, a los que se accede fácilmente y muy barato en autobús. Buscar el punto de información para turistas en el UTC Sarawak, donde te aconsejan perfectamente y de manera gratuita.

Not much to do, better to stay longer in other cities of Sarawak (as Kuching or Miri)

Kuching es la capital de Sarawak, hay mucho que ver y hacer!
Kuching es la capital de Sarawak, hay mucho que ver y hacer!! Parques nacionales, villas culturales, museos, paseos en bote etc... la ciudad es limpia y linda llena de panoramas gratis, nosotros arrendamos un auto por dos días y fuimos a Bako National Park (aunque ahí se puede ir en bus o taxi también) y cruzamos en bote, hicimos caminatas y nos quedamos una noche. Al día siguiente fuimos a Mind caves y Fairy Caves, muy interesante, ahí si tienes que ir en auto o tomar un tour, luego recorrimos el ares y llegamos a un río en el bosque que no es un atractivo turístico pero disfrutamos mucho. Hoy iremos al jardín de orquideas, a los templos chinos, el mercado y algún otro lugar inesperado. Feliz de star aquí! Vale la pena estar mínimo 3 noches para recorrer los alrededores y mejor un poco mas
