Absolutely AMAZING hotel room!!! For the price, it was EXCEPTIONAL!! Definitely 4* LUXURY!! My friend and I were on a little week-long trip around France and Germany with our two dogs. This was, by far, the best room of the trip!! Many thanks to the wonderful evening concierge who made us feel soooo welcome!!
The value for money at this hotel was really good. I knew the hotel isn’t luxury and I didn’t need it to be either. I needed a decent hotel in a good location and that’s exactly what it is. They even put me in a river view room which was a real bonus after I requested it and they said it would be €15 a night, so I had decided to leave it.
It is not luxury, but that is not what we were looking for. The room is clean and practical, the bed is good and the location is a little bit further, but you can do everything by foot.
Basic but cosy rooms; in the buzzing centre of Cologne South area (close to the university); beautiful breakfast area, nice buffet; no luxury, but all one needs is there.
During our stay, the property exuded sheer luxury. The staff went above and beyond, ensuring our comfort and promptly addressing all our queries. The bedrooms were absolutely phenomenal, an exquisite sight!
A nice hotel at a golf resort a bit outside Cologne. About 30 min drive to the Kölner dom. Clean, good service, free parking. Good place for night when passing Cologne.
Our guess is that Hotel Maritim was designed to mimic a cruise ship, with the hotel seemingly capable of supporting an "all-inclusive" stay, with multiple restaurants and plenty of services. The location obviously made this unnecessary, and we were well situated to hit multiple beautiful Christmas markets.
With a little googling, this hotel was apparently designed in 1988 and I hope they never remodel. It's wonderful! A glimpse into early nineties luxury, built around a sort of mall-concept. Never remodel, Hotel Maritim.
