The hotel needs a bit of renovarion as rooms are outdated. Breakfast is not so good and if you arrive during the last hour there is almost nothing. The room with games for children was not available.

People smoked in adjacent rooms that had balconies - that meant all their smoke came into our room. We called reception, and they informed us that, according to German law, people are allowed to smoke on the balconies. It took the nonsmoking room element out of our vacation, but other than that, we had a good time.

Nothing to dislike

Great location, close to the Kandel Gipfel. Room was clean & I loved that you can request different pillow types depending on how you sleep. The small touches are considered. I had the Schnitzel for evening meal, very tasty! Breakfast was great too, with a good selection. Staff were very friendly - I had left my glasses in the room & they didn’t hesitate when I asked if they could post them.

The set menu was OK for me although the only starter, smoked salmon, no longer available & only one dessert left My husband did not like either mains so chose from the 'a la carte' menu.

It might have been nice to have a few more menu choices; however, everything that we ate at dinner was excellent.

More extensive menu would be nice but it is adequate and food was excellent. However, no complaints about selection at breakfast! My room which was on an extension wing to main part didn't have the traditional balcony flowers, perhaps as hotel was not very busy still being out of peak season.

Friendly welcome, quirky old style but modern decor, spacious room with large balcony with view of surrounding countryside and hills. Hotel is set in quiet location about 1km away from local village. Food in the restaurant was excellent despite the limited menu. Breakfast also excellent with wide choice a hot and cold food, fresh fruit, and even a waffle maker is available. In the basement is also an excellent sauna room (although the plunge pool was not filled when I used it) which is available for use in mornings and not just evenings (cost 5€ which seemed fair to me). Outside there is large dining balcony, and lower down is a large covered terrace and looks like they sometimes have bbq events there. The landscaped garden is very quirky and attractive with a well equipped children's play area and even has a small church in the corner where there was some singing entertainment on on evening of my visit. Location is excellent for exploring the many local cycling and walking trails.

Public places (dining area) are well maintained. However, the room requires some renovation - carpet floor is old; would be better to replace with wood/laminate. Also, bathroom size is relatively small. We had almost every day some issue with hot water in a shower; the temperature wasn't consistent. Probably we missed other reviews regarding restaurant dinner; it was not a la cart but rather buffet with very limited selection. It's not worth it for 35 euros.

I thought dinner was not very nice, especially for Euro 35,00 fixed menu. food is personal of course, but still. dogs are allowed in rooms and sometimes bark when owners are out.

The place misses a couple of parking spaces with powersockets for EV charging. It's 2022 - you can't get away without a good row of charging stations anymore. A glass door for the bathroom wouldn't be my choice either. It is partly see through. There was no A/C - that's gonna sting on hot days. Showerhead was leaking badly. Little waterpressure was left to go with.

Interior of hotel and room needs an upgrade. The buffet dinner i.s.o a-la-carte, food was however good with however limited choices.
