It was perfectly situated for our needs. The room was clean and comfortable. Basic, with no ‘facilities’ as such. However we didn’t need anything really, we’re not demanding people!

Good stay in Gerdi Guesthouse. We were arriving late and messaged reception ahead to pre order dinner from the restaurant, which they very kindly accommodated (and warmed up for us when we arrived) - thank you Lucie for helping with that! Our room was basic but comfortable, although the description said there was a TV and there was not. Location is remote but that was what we wanted. Very close to the 1 road and 5-10 mins drive from the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. Saw the Northern Lights from outside our room which was amazing. Only negative was cost - it's expensive for what it is. But it was in line with other prices we paid in Iceland. Breakfast also not included in the rate we booked - for the money it should have been.

There could be a small fridge and a kettle in the rooms. It’s kind of inconvenient to go to dining room especially later in the night if you just want hot water.

The property is perfect if you want to stay a little outskirts. You can view Aurora right in the parking lot. We didn’t take the breakfast but considering the location, I think it’s perfect offering from the property owners.

Although not a major problem for an overnight stay, the room was in need of some repair/replacement e.g lower part of the entrance door and flooring. I also think that this property would greatly benefit from a slight upgrade in furnishings to enhance its appearance.

 The accommodation was clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was hot with good water pressure. In addition, staff were very helpful and friendly and the food during the evening meal was absolutely delicious.

Our neighbors could be heard very easily which was very bothersome in the morning hearing someone on the phone at 7am for an hour. Indeed the bungalows are not very soundproof. The water temperature fluctuated a few times but the room was warm which made up for it.

We had individual bungalows which were clean and comfortable. The staff accommodated to our needs and demands as we had an issue with booking two rooms instead of one. The restaurant was delicious, and northern lights could be seen from the property.

The only thing that bothered us was the meal situation. The staff encouraged us to come for dinner, and we ended up lucky to even get a table - there were only a couple not reserved for tour groups. It just seemed odd to encourage guests to dine in knowing that they cater heavily to groups and that there would be a lot? The dinner was good but definitely expensive, even for Iceland. We did not opt for the breakfast and were glad we did not, as what we saw in the morning was not NEARLY worth the price. However, there is only one other dining option in the area.

This is a great location near to the famous Diamond Beach and Glacier Lagoon. Free hot beverages are provided during your stay.

Everything great and the staff is really nice and helpfull. Guesthouse Gerdi is just that perfect shelter on the way that you want to stay at. Safe from harm and amidst the comfort. Didnt tried any food there so cant tell you if thats good or bad. Maybe see for yourself? Accommodation was really great.
