Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Loved the thermal baths on the property, the breakfast spread each morning was great, rooms were spacious with heated floors, and the restaurant had some of the most delicious food! Also the convenience of the activity center being on the property was great, I booked the ice cave, lava cave, and snowmobile all through their website/activity center and had a wonderful time doing each activity. Lastly, I appreciated the northern lights wake up call, I was lucky enough to see them twice during my stay!

There is a thermal spa on site, they also call you when Aurora lights are well visible. The rooms were pretty chilly but they offer heaters.

United KingdomNothing. This is a hotel of true character and one of the most enjoyable that we have stayed in, and we travel a lot.
We had an absolutely incredible stay at Hotel Husafell. Firstly, the food is superb and the best we had in Iceland, both the breakfast and the restaurant for lunch and dinner. It is worth coming for the food alone. The location is remote and spectacular. The hotel is very comfortable and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. There are a lot of cool things to do in the area, we particularly enjoyed walking to see the fascinating ancestral history and art of Páll Guðmundsson, a short walk across the way from the hotel, which really captures the magical earth energy of the locality and the nearby stone canyon. Then of course I must mention the thermal baths attached to the hotel, which are wonderful and free to use for guests. There is also a northern lights wake-up call on offer, and we saw the lights twice. Do not hesitate to come here, we will definitely be coming back!

United States Minor Outlying IslandsDusty unpaved parking. Room did not have lotion. They do not give receipt for your stay if you did booking on Booking.com. Pool area with sauna and cold bath required people to wash hair before entering it so if you have a wig or any hair problems that you can’t wash your hair, you will not be able to sit in the hot tubs either. That was extremely disappointing. I wasn’t able to use one thing I was really looking forward to. Bathrooms in the pool area had zero privacy. Showers didn’t have separation, it’s one huge room with shower heads attached to the wall. You leave personal belongings wide open for everyone to see on the bench as they do not have locker room or lockers. They do allow small kids in the pool with full diapers 🤮 I wish I knew all this before I did my booking. I probably would not book here.
One level property with outstanding breakfast. Comfortable beds and good size room.

AustraliaFor the price you pay for a standard room, you’d expect a little more. There’s not much of a lounge area and the hot tubs look a little worn.
The hotel is in a beautiful location in a valley, with a spa-like swimming pool with hot tubs. It is great for trips to The Cave and Into the Glacier, and close to one of Iceland’s most unusual waterfalls, Hraunfosser. We enjoyed our three-night stay in a standard room. It was slightly small and there was no fridge in the room, but one was quickly supplied when we asked for one (supposedly they are not standard for a standard room). It was a similar situation with bathrobes, but we decided not to bother. We supplied our own milk (seems to be the case in most accommodation in Iceland) but there were teabags and instant coffee and a jug for boiling water. Breakfast had a good selection of all sorts of things (the Icelandic rye bread was delicious and the sea buckthorn jam was amazing with it) but I wasn’t a fan of the scrambled eggs. We ate in the hotel restaurant every night, as the bistro closes too early and the other options are a quarter of an hour’s away or more. The entrees and mains are very good (except maybe the horse) but the lamb fillet and the burgers were highlights. Small tour groups were present at dinner for two of our three nights. The place has a special feel reserved for out of the way places - an amazing sunset on our last night capped off the experience.
