We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsCheck -in is difficult. Too many mails with important information, so I got lost during the digital check-in. Due to the low occupancy of hotel breakfast was one day served in another hotel, 5 minute walk away.
Nice room and shower. Smart key with smartphone. Breakfast in the hotel

NetherlandsWe couldn't get into the hotel. There is no reception at the location itself and no one responded to us ringing the doorbell. Also our phone calls to the hotel went unanswered. We were lucky to run into another couple who told us we had to pick up on keycards at another hotel. When we arrived there and we expressed our concerns about not being able to reach anyone, the lady at the reception said she had problems with the internet (which is why she couldn't open the door of our hotel for us remotely) and was simply too busy to put up a note to inform travelers what to do. Very little empathy there. Hotels without a reception should really have a reliable fallback in case something doesn't work with technology.
The room was great - very spacious and clean and comfortable.

GermanyNot really „not like“ but a slight deduction for the smartphone based room key which in my case wasn’t a problem, since I have EU unlimited Data and an affinity to all this tech-y stuff, but if my wife would have come alone it would have been extremely frustrating for her to handle all this download/upload process for the room key. Also that the entrance door needed quite a forceful push to open would have been intimidating for her. So this Hotel is not recommended for old school guests.Found the breakfast also slightly underwhelming considering the whopping 22€ per head. But as I said, 4 out of 5

United Arab Emirates-DIRTY BATHROOMS:HAIR IN THE SHOWER ETC.. -NO AIR CONDITIONING I’m booking it appears with AC but once you pay you receive a message from the hotel saying not all rooms have AC We Reyes to cancel but they refused to allow free cancellation so we went anyway also NO ELEVATOR so we kind of chose ground floor since they promised 2 fans etc Fans were from the 1970 s so the kids were sweating and it was really hot. -NOBODY AT RECEPTION you never see anybody key is digital ;once it did not work so we had to call and wait for Al Woody coming from another hotel with a normal igual al key ..they could give them from day 1 -POOR BREAKFAST Suggest to have it in the city because they have only 1 woman cooking, serving etc so you wait 20 minutes to get water etc

IrelandThe rooms do not have ironing facilities!! I was staying for important business which required ironed clothes, and the description of the room said irons were available. This was not the case. When I rang reception, I reached a receptionist at the sister hotel 6 minutes away who said she was alone so could not bring the iron to us. Instead, I had to bring our clothes to the other hotel, iron them in the foyer (really), and then bring them home again. This was not the lady’s fault, but it was terribly inconvenient. I am surprised a hotel in Maastricht, which is so regularly hosting conferences etc., does not have ironing facilities. I also ordered a twin room, but the first room we got was a double room and had to ring to be switched. Finally, the shower head was broken and could not stay up on its own, meaning it had to be held for the entirety of use, a minor but annoying thing. Finally, I would not recommend this hotel for anyone not tech savvy or someone very fond of regular hotel service: for most of the day, there are no staff in the hotel and checkin must be done on an iPad.
The location of this hotel is fantastic: just seconds from the vrijtof and a few minutes from SBE. The rooms are wonderfully decorated and the courtyard is great place to unwind. Generally any interaction had with staff was pleasurable and they were more than accommodating when we required the booking of a taxi. The room I was in had a separate shower room and bathroom—another useful positive, especially when sharing.

ChileThe electronic key system is horrible. Depends on your phone having internet and being charged. So reserve battery to open the door, because also there is no one in the hotel, no one to check you in, or open the doors if you have a problem. The electronic key is an app and works horribly, takes several minutes for it to respond. Super bad and cheap code, definitely not tested. You can't even share this with the other people staying with you. And since there's no one to ask anything you are on your own. Also they charged me 15 euros more for my dog, offering a nice comfy basket and a bowl of treats. There was nothing. Not even the bowl for water I expressly asked for. And of course no one to ask anything, not a soul.

United StatesThe heat in our room did not work - we asked them to check it twice and it never worked over 5 days. Check in process was cumbersome - we arrive at 10pm and had no way to get INSIDE the lobby where the check-in kiosk is placed?!?! We had to wait around until (luckily) some other guests let us into the lobby so we could initiate the check-in?
Breakfast was very good on two mornings (same girl) - OK on one morning (two different girls) and a bit of a mess on one morning (two guys who did not really know what they were doing). Location of the hotel was perfect - near the main square.

NetherlandsTo open a hotel door one needs a smartphone with internet connection. This has advantages (e.g., forwarding the key to a partner), but also disadvantages (e.g., fiddling with your phone while standing in front of the door, or for people without a smartphone in general). There was a small mix-up with our breakfast due to illness of staff, but the hotel was quick to refund us so that was handled well by the hotel.
Cozy and pleasant hotel with a very good location. Our receptionist was charming and was working hard. We had a good stay!

NetherlandsReally disappointed by the fact that it’s a hotel WITHOUT a receptionist. You must check yourself in on a tablet and the key is your phone. It’s always pleasant to be welcomed by someone when you arrive at the hotel and not to have to check yourself in. That’s even more the case given the price of the room!
Very beautiful hotel, nicely decorated and ideally located in the center of Maastricht. The breakfast was good. we really appreciated that there was no useless shower supplies but only the necessary soap and shampoo in glass refillable bottles, great!

BelgiumThe poor staff are all alone. One person does reception, cooks the eggs to order and sets out breakfast, does the maintenance, deals with issues. It is cruel to make one person do all this alone. The shower water pressure a dismal. You also get exactly three hangers.
The staff are friendly but so overloaded. Breakfast is sufficient. Quiet rooms. Good location. Good heating.

United KingdomThe wooden floor could have been swept during our week long stay as it was inevitable that bits would come into the room on our shoes especially with it being carnival. Each day as part of the clean a fragrance was sprayed in the room - we think on the bedspread which made me cough a lot! We opened the windows to air the room.
Property was nice and well positioned. We had a room at the rear of the property with a nice view. The room was big and well appointed.

NetherlandsVery poor insulation. The people above us where making loads of noise from 1 at night until 3. It sounded like furniture was being moved, people were jumping up and down and it almost felt like they were having a party upstairs with all that noise, we couldn’t sleep so we called reception who checked it out for us (twice), eventually the sounds calmed down but we lost 2 hours of sleep resulting in a really bad night for us.

GermanyI had problems opening the wardrobe in the bedroom as the door seemed stuck unless you gently yank it. Unfortunately, the windows and door do not necessarily cancel out noise from the streets. It can be noisy sometimes.
The location was great and near the famous Vrijthof square, eateries and shopping district. Several of the well-known landmarks of Maastricht is also within walking distance. I particularly liked the bedroom and dining room, with its high ceilings and old world charm. The beds were comfortable and the room came with its own coffeemaker and also cosy little kettle. The breakfast was tasty with an option for scrambled eggs that's cooked on the spot. Many thanks! for a great stay.
