Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The rooms are very basic. You get one towel and the wardrobe in our room had one single coat hanger. There is one ceiling light, that's it. The walls are thin, so when other guests get louder, you will hear it. The rooms aren't very comfortable, but that's actually OK because the beds are good enough and we didn't stay much in the room anyway.
This hotel is central, just a few 100 meters away from central station. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean (they get cleaned and tidied every day). Compared to other hotels in Amsterdam, especially so central, this hotel is very affordable (but it's still Amsterdam where everything is expensive). One peculiar thing that stands out are the stairs. There are so many of them and they're so steep. All in all this hotel has charm, something that many hotels I'd technically rate higher don't have.

Very basic room and small which is what you expect in Amsterdam. This met our needs for somewhere central to sleep. Staff were helpful.

The location couldn't be better close to all things in the city center. The showers are hot, the bathrooms are clean and well stocked. Although the rooms are small if your plan is to be out and about it's a great value. The street is loud and busy most of the day and night. So not great if you are a light sleeper.

Noise!! We coudlnt sleep because of loud people.. doors and walls are like paper thin. You can hear every single thing from the next door or corridor.
Location is really good. We spend 1 night so it was okay.

Didn’t get enough sleep for three nights. The guests next to our room keep banging the doors. There’s only a small gap between the shower and toilet. I would say it’s not for tall people. But the location is superb. Very close to the central station and loads of shops and restaurants.

The stairs leading up to the room was an experience especially after leaving a coffee shop.

Tv advertised on booking.com but we didn't have one in our room. View from our window was like something from a comedy sketch. No kettle. No do not disturb sign so cleaners come in daily.
Location brilliant, staff were really helpful. Clean beds daily.

You get what you pay for was extremely cheap, Very basic and small rooms, High flights of stairs to walk to room no lifts, Apart from that everything was great.friendly staff.
The hotel is very central a walk a way from from everything no transport neede a very comfy clean room,nice hot showers and room cleaned daily with fresh toilet rolls and towels.

The location was amazing, the room was tidy and simplistic and there was a shared toilet and shower which were clean too. It is incredibly cheap in comparison to other places and I cannot complain about the room at all

Steps are too steep to climb with luggage. Rooms are very small...bathroom is small and not very clean

The stairs are so steep and if you want yr own bathroom you are on the top floor loads of steep steps 2 walk up and down, also the rooms are tiny they look big in the picture but there not

The set of stairs, the hotel is outdate and very dark not enough lights in corridors and no television in the rooms. It's a little depressing not ideal but if you are counting only sleep and out all day and if it's a very short stay of 2 nights for the cheap price you can have a go but not for people with mobility problems.
Location is great. The cleaners changed the towels everyday.

Stairs were a little steep but it's in a very old property so didn't expect anything else in the center of Amsterdam. Shared toilet didn't have soap for washing hands afterwards.
Shower was hot, fresh towels every day, bed was comfy and had 24hrs access. Cheap accomodation for central Amsterdam. Shared toilet was very clean whenever I used it.
