Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaRoom size was not appropriate to match the cost
Location was amazing. Room was overpriced for what we received ..a tiny corner room right next to renovation works. Staff were lovely and helped where they could. Not many amenities available. Overall though we did enjoy our stay there

United StatesShower design that results in pools of water on bathroom floor. Could have used more towels to deal with this. Also, the location may be a bit noisy very late in the evening. Seemed to be woken at same time in middle of the night due to when some nearby bars let out. While initially thinking they provided chocolates in small sealed packages on the nightstands, we opened them to find these were ear plugs.
Clean, spacious and modern room. Well appointed. Friendly staff. Nice location, directly along a main tramline with stop just steps from entrance. The square on which the hotels sits has multiple restaurants for quick access.

United StatesAdding bacon to the breakfast would be ideal. Or mixing one day sausage and one day bacon. When I was booking the hotel in Bookings, it said the room had air conditioner. When I arrived my room had a fan and they told me in this time of year the hotel doesn't use the air conditioner. I requested a room that did had A/C. When we book a room with air conditioner it should have one all year round, not subject to the hotel interpretation of the weather. Opening windows would have resulted in having noise from the street. This is a very good hotel, I would request the management to clarify if the room has or not A/C in the Bookings page. It was the reason we booked the hotel and we felt deceived. Thankfully the hotel staff upgraded us and the problem was solved.
Location is excellent. The room was comfortable as well as the bed. The staff (all of them, from Manuel and the other guys in the breakfast to the front desk). They were great with customer service and attention.

South AfricaThe aircons did not work properly and the rooms were too hot. There was no lounge area or anywhere to sit. Also strange that you have to request to have your room cleaned daily - I don’t stay in a hotel so I can make my own bed! Very expensive for what you get.
Great location with very modern rooms and lovely room amenities.

GreeceI loved the location and the staff. They were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the view was amazing. There was a tram stop outside the hotel and the heart of the city was five minutes away. Great choice of restaurants and cafes all around.

BrazilThere was no small fridge to cool drinks and a microwave in case you wanted to heat up some food.
What we liked most was the room facilities, very comfortable, large, beautiful, new, clean, organized. The bathroom was also wonderful. The view was amazing (facing the side street). The location is wonderful, close to good restaurants, bars, and shops.

EstoniaWe had a pleasant stay at NH Amsterdam Caransa. The hotel’s location is excellent—right in the heart of the city, with easy access to public transport, restaurants, and attractions. However, being in such a lively area does mean there’s some noise from nearby restaurants and clubs, so light sleepers might want to keep that in mind. The room was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The only downside was that electrical work was being done during our stay, and it started early in the morning, which was quite disruptive. It would have been better if the hotel had scheduled it later in the day, considering guests might still be sleeping. Overall, a good stay with a fantastic location, but some minor inconveniences. Would still recommend it for those who want to be in the center of the action.

IrelandWe had a lovely stay at NH Amsterdam Caransa. The best bit is the location, you are in walking distance from all the main attractions. And if you’re into nightlife you have loads of bars, clubs and karaoke spots on your doorstep! Special shoutout to Vivienne who made our stay extra special. So friendly and welcoming:)

IrelandThe tram noise can be a bit annoying as you are trying to sleep, but the hotel supply ear plugs. It's a busy area nightly.
It is such an easy hotel to get to, the tram stops right outside the hotel. We walked around the city, the hotel is so central.
