Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We forgot to tell staff on checkout the bedroom shower leaked under the gap into the bedroom. Did not distract from our stay View from the room window was directly onto another building and rubble but was no worry to us. We didn't book for the view & not there in daytime Benefits far outweighed minor points
Staff were so helpful. Polite. Always smiling City location was excellent for us. Easy walking to a number of key sites & tram stops Breakfast was simple, great choices Free cake & coffee in the reception lounge a very nice touch. A small hotel, nicely decorated We would definitely return & will seek out other FLH hotels Highly recommended

The room we got was rather small, and the nightly rate was quite high. I definitely feel we could get a better value for money. Not recommended for an extended stay

The room for one person is way too small.
The staff is remarkably polite and quite helpful. The wine offered at the lobby was a differentiator. There is lemon water and some snacks at the lobby for free as well. The lobby area, although not very big, is cozy and comfortable. The breakfast, although simple, is very tasty and fresh. Praca do Comercio, the castle, Lisbon Cathedral and other landmarks are very close.

Everything was perfect
Great breakfast ,lots of choice ,freshly made scrambled eggs and the cottage cheese slices were outstanding ( we don’t have this in the UK ) The added bonus of having the option to come and have delicious chocolate cake and biscuits in the afternoon with a cup of coffee or tea was great.As was a cheeky glass of port in the evening !

The property was small and clean and very comfortable. The bathroom is behind a glass door close to the bed so if you wernt familiar with the person you were sharing with it could be awkward. The breakfast was excellent.

The hotel was in a very good position for walking to see the sites. The room was a good temperature and the double glazing kept the noise out. The breakfast was good but the staff bustled around and chatted to each other a lot. So it didn’t feel relaxed for us. There was one great member of staff who was outstanding; so helpful, polite and focussed. Eg: He even noticed my breakfast cup was dirty as I filled it with coffee and swopped it for me. If all the staff were like him I would have given higher scores.

Why is bathroom with glass doors?
Clean rooms, common areas, bathroom, helpful staff, great location, they serve free delicious cake and coffee, cookies in the afternoon. You can 7/24 find water in lobby. They helped me to reschedule my booking because of my flight cancelation. Best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel.

Nothing!…..great boutique hotel with incredible staff.
Breakfast was amazing. Cereal,yoghurt,scrambled eggs, meat, cheese, and on and on. Plus amazing pastel de natas. And fresh orange juice. And coffee and fruit….well, you get the idea! Location fabulous, in heart of Alfama and close to everything. The 728 bus gets you way out to Belem.

Nothing that springs to mind
Great location, excellent breakfast to set you up for the day. Clean and well equipped hotel. Staff were the standout. Every employee we meet was friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Must be a good working atmosphere, as everyone looked happy at their work.

The staff is so friendly and helpful. Marino and Felipe made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The location is great for anywhere. The room even if it was a little bit small for two persons, was comfortable enough.
