Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Sri LankaThe property does not appear to be what the pictures show. It has not been properly maintained by them. They set up a twin room with two single beds even though I had reserved a double room with a double bed. There wasn't enough room in the tiny room for our luggage and other belongings. There wasn't much to see and the river view was completely blocked.
Because the property was nearer "Thewas" Pire, it was simple to get to the city and some amazing temples. They had a friendly staff.

BelgiumThe picture with a view of the Bangkok river is misleading, as the real view is completely obstructed by a dilapidated building in front of the restaurant desk. Difficult to converse meaningfully with staff and receptionist due to lack of English.
Good food, friendly service, clean but dark room, a bit claustrophobic. Good value though for a low budget. The hotel is also situated close to the shuttle boat pier on the river, providing cheap transport to some of the main sights/temples.

United KingdomNo safety deposit box and cannot lock the doors. I asked staff how to lock the room and I was told room can only be locked from the inside. We could hear people in the room opposite us and there are no lifts, which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the tight, spiral staircase. It was difficult to get suitcase up and down.
Location near the river, 7/11 close by, room was what we expected size wise, slightly dated but again, we were prepared for that. Room was clean, fresh bottled water provided every day. Staff was nice. Overall, nice place!

AustraliaIt might not be to everyone's satisfaction but it is near perfect for me and I'm returning soon.
Been staying around Thewet for decades on my visits to Bangkok and I love it. This is my first stay at the quaint Kaloang. A bit rustic but comfortable on a great spot built over the bank of the Chao Phraya. Friendly village-like feel to the area with great access to the city by express ferry service @ 21 baht to anywhere up or down the river. Handy 7/11 store that seems to be 24/7 and street vendors and wonderful food stalls all up by the market. There's a Bangkok Bank ATM is on the left just inside the front entrance of the Wat Devaraj Kunchon grounds. Steve Cafe and Cuisine is also on the river through the Wat grounds and is excellent for a special occasion.

United KingdomNot near any subway/metro lines so hard to travel to some areas of the city. A small thing but the curtains did not block out the sun in any way so if you’re someone who is light sensitive this could be an issue.
It was very rustic, cute, and in a quiet part of Bangkok. Very well located near Thewet pier so during the day easy and convenient to use the ferry.

United StatesIt's a bit far from anything and their breakfast menu is pretty minimal so it's almost like you have to go out to eat in the morning. Besides this it was great
The sound of the water under the place was really wonderful and you could hear the sounds. As a 6-year active military veteran in the US Navy it was just wonderful to have this experience. It's little off the beaten track but it's really cool and I really appreciate it. I will go there again

NetherlandsThe walls are thin and made of wood, so noise isolation isn't the best.
A really nice and authentic Thai place on the bank of the Chao Praya river in Bangkok run by very friendly and welcoming staff. There's a very good restaurant also.

United KingdomNo river view. The listing clearly stated it, which was a main reason for choosing it, but the view from our room was of tin roofs. And when we protested, Mr Grumpy, the manager was beyond unapologetic. Indeed, he was surly at best throughout. And the aircon groaned like a cow in labour, to such an extent it had to be turned off at night - not ideal with night temperatures in the late 20s.
The place has character. A jetty over the river, lovely rooms of rich, polished wood, well-tended flowers and shrubs. It's a nice place to be. And most of the people were great - friendly and helpful.

FinlandThe house has very thin walls so we could hear everything thru the walls. Surroundings on the other hand are quiet and nice. There’s a really nice temple right on the corner. The resraurant doesn’t serve breakfast but there are places to get coffee and a 7/11 near by. The room is pretty basic, but I’d say good enough for the price. Lot of mosquitos in the terrace area.
Location is good and the restaurant serves nice food. Fridge is a nice plus.

United StatesVery rustic which I usually like, but this was at the far end of my comfort zone (could see daylight through one wall), possible large rodent ran by while sitting at restaurant table, large number of fighting cats, overall charming but rough around the edges so check expectations
Fabulous location on the river, booked because I could walk to public boat transportation system, peaceful, now has breakfast and coffee, lovely hanging orchid collection, note this is a genuine Thai setting, not westernized, very little English, authentic
