Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA rustic and peaceful family run resort that provides the ideal place to stay and chill out on Koh Tao. Ideally located in Chalok Bay close to all amenities and dive schools with a pool right on the beach. I really enjoyed the laid back lifestyle. On-site food was good as well as the bar. All staff were friendly and cheerful.

United KingdomSlightly dated not as bright and welcoming as the photos. The toilet seat was stained and not secure, make sure you bring your own shower wash and shampoo. The pillows on the bed were hard and worn. The kettle would over boil so I had to time it and switch it off and there was no free coffee just tea bags. I purchased my own coffee and milk from 7/11 but you can also go to the restaurant for a choice of coffees 70 Bart.
My room was Spacious and clean (staff cleaned every day) fresh sheets and towels provided and two fresh bottles of water. The food was 10/10 from 7:30am no complaints there and so affordable they did lovely smoothies and staff were friendly. Easy access to beach and Main Street. Only a 30 min walk to other side of Island, the busier side. Majority of people hire mopeds, safety first I’d much rather walk, but taxis are reasonable I guess, £6 for 15 min drive. Hotel can organise. I’m not sure I am happy with what I paid for the 8 days roughly £45 a night I think is a bit steep considering the facilities were so basic it was essentially just a room with a bed, I think for that price breakfast should have been included, to upgrade to garden view and addition of tv and safe was an extra £178 which I was not prepared to pay. But I guess the surroundings were so beautiful well kept greenery plants etc and very clean. Lovely views on the beach. If you don’t pay extra for garden view request room 308 is the best no one over looking and you still get the view of the surrounding grounds.

United KingdomThe wifi and the signal in the rooms were very poor. It was a bit better at the restaurant but sometimes it would suddenly drop. There are power outages in this area so if you have to work remotely you might want to stay in Sairee. This are in particular is further away from everything so you most definitely will need a motorbike (or someone to drive you haha).
I loved this hotel, the rooms are divided in buildings of 4 and there's loads of plants in between the buildings, you feel like you're in nature all the time. There's a pool, a bar and a restaurant (with a few cats roaming around), very charming. Our room was clean and comfortable, we got water and toilet paper every day even if we didn't request cleaning. I extended my stay with 3 days and there was no problems with that. They had a taxi transfer to the pier a few times a day which was very practical, very close to a 7-Eleven and a few restaurants (I recommend Yin&Yan). Overall a great stay!

IsraelRoom is too dark no enough light. Cannot open windows from wood because too much mosquitoes go inside the room. I was busy killing mosquito 2 hours killing in 2 days more than 15. And also 2 many legs worms. The shower is taking long to get hot than cold again. Bed was too hard specially for paying so much per night.
The swimming pool really beautiful in front of the beach few meters. The staff was nice showed everything and very friendly .. There was bird in cage that can tell some words.

United KingdomThe bed is like rock, hardly slept while I was there, the room wasn’t quite what I was expecting, only the first three bungalows have a true sea and pool view and the extra room is actually the patio, our one looked over the staff quarters which needs some work. Rooms are dated and consist of a small bedroom and bathroom only, but ok. Wouldn’t pay more than £50 per night max for the room if went in future.
The location is excellent if you want to to be away from the nightlife but have just enough to keep you busy, located on the beach with bars and restaurants in easy reach along the beach

SpainWIFI in the room wasn't working, we had to stay at the restaurant to be able to connect. The room could have been cleaner as at check in we found shaving hair in the wall of the shower. Also we had geckos inside the room which made loud sounds early morning.. :/
The location was great. Also they have a small but beautiful swimming pool just on top of the beach, creating a lovely atmosphere. We had a bungalow close to the pool with a nice terrace.

PolandWe came to Fisherman pretty late and we were tired after our journey. The staff were so helpful and friendly, at first we were not satisfied with the first room we got but the day after it was no problem to get an upgrade and we loved our new room. Fisherman is located in quiet part of the island, for us it was perfect, we rented a scooter and visited the center whenever we felt like it. 7eleven,super close, pharmacy also and medical point too! Ps the staff in the restaurant is so friendly, kind and helpful ! It was a pleasure always to have a chat with them by the pool!

GermanyThe bungalow wie stayed was okay the beds were big enough and the matresses tolerable for a strong back. But the bathroom was clearly unsatisfactory. The rooms are not the cheapest so one would expect a nicer bathroom with a better and cleaner shower. The bathroom fittings were old and leaking. The shower would not have enough water for me to effective wash my curles.
Staying at fishermans were a lot of fun for us. We had the best of times at the pool and at the restaurant. The pool was amazing with the palm trees being integrated in the pool. The food at the restaurant was very tasty and even if we spend a whole day there had a lot to eat and to drink wie had a rather small bill. The boy and girl working there were very friendly and obliging.

AustraliaThe bed. Rock hard. Didn't even ripple my coffee when you sat down beside it. Bathroom is part of the room, I like a separate space for the bathroom. The shower and toilet do have doors however. Pool was a little murky and not real clear while we were there, however it did smell & feel clean enough to swim in and the view from it was fantastic. Careful on the bridge over it though, very slippery with sand and no hand rail, we definitely avoided going over it. There are luckily other stairs to the beach.
The location was fantastic. With the pool right on the beach the view while swimming truely gave those holiday vibes. The room was spacious however could use a chair to sit on inside, however it did have chairs on the balcony. Chalok Baan beach was fantastic for us as an older couple. Chill and quiet but with bars and restaurants just a stroll along the beach front for other eating options. The asthetic of the accommodation was rustic beachy and quite cute. Access to beach was easy.

GermanyThe pool was pretty dirty. It looked as the water filter system was broken but was not told. People also did not shower when going into the pool. (Even the pool guidelines tell so). Staff was not interested in that. It was a unfortunate as I could not really enjoy the pool as it is a really nice one.
Really nice garden area. Quite good cuisine and nice bar. Staff is also really friendly. The best bed I have slept so far in Thailand. Not too soft
