Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe shower is awful, don’t try washing your hair if you’re a girl as it takes forever. It’s old and the plumbing is old. It’s just how it is.
The location was amazing and the staff were lovely. The history was cool and it even looks cool Albeit rundown. Reminded me of a western movie.

United Statesthe shower was a bit old and tile missing and shower knobs for hot and cold were difficult to open and shut - water dripped all nite after my shower.
for an old hotel 100 years old and suffering from water damage - they have done an excellent job of trying to keep up this hotel

The ambiance history and the set up. I'm sure it's been mentioned before but make it a lot more available to history buffs with a tour of the property and make open the cafe. If you build it they will come the same applies to the hotel it needs a lot of investment to make it a historical place that tourists will be keen to visit.

United StatesIt is completely neglected and honestly should be condemned, but it’s really sad because it is such a cool piece of history. Couldn’t sleep a wink and the smell of the 100+ year old plumbing nearly did me in. But no regrets because who knows how much longer it’ll be around.
Super cool history that is slipping through our fingers! Awesome staff and a test of your courage! Definitely do the tour of the Opera House for the full experience.

United KingdomWalls were a bit thin and you could hear the people next door plus their air conditioning unit
This is a very interesting place, a little run down but quirky. Room small but adequate, hot water hit and miss but lots of toiletries. There is a communal sitting room with a microwave, coffee and tea supplies, fridge. There are no TV's here. It has a great history and it is well worth paying for the tour of the opera house, it was beautiful and a fascinating story about Marta Becket. There are only a few buildings in the town and no shops or bars. We drove to The Longstreet Inn and Casino for a meal which was only 10min drive.

PolandThere’s hardly any restaurant or any place to eat near the hotel (I’m talking like 30min drive distance). It’d be great if they had a vending machine there at least.
The vibe is amazing, we loved the old but well maintained building

ItalyThe structure looks like falling apart and with no investment to maintain the place. There’s a lot of vintage charm that turns pretty creepy from the low maintainance and the complete absence of life around. The bar is closed, the Opera House is not accessible. There was very little guests and no one from the structure staying at night. If I would pass by again I would probably stop to have a look but not stay over night. As two women travelling by ourselves we didn’t feel safe until we saw more guests arriving later at night.
The place has a lot of character and fascination from the abandoned village and restoration from Marta. You can feel the life there was once and the love that has been put in the 70s to it. The rooms are clean and beds are new.

Very old and not really well maintained motel in the middle of nowhere but this gives some strange charm to this place. It was a bit frightening at arrivel but we enjoyed our one night in the end.

PeruOf course we need to compromise the facility given the price. I found a hole in the wall in the bathroom and the wall was very thin so I could hear the neighbors'noise.
This hotel is relatively reasonable in comparison with other hotel options in the park. Also there is a huge parking space and quiet.

United StatesLots of things are missing in this hotel that were advertised--there was no breakfast, no food availability at all. The hotel is as clean as they can get it, but it needs to either be totally remodeled or shut down. Couldn't get the shower to run anything but cold water. Stinks in the hallway like sewer gas. Looks deserted.
A good location near Death Valley National Park that provides a cheaper lodging option. Reminds me of a ghost town, which is interesting. Is very quiet.

IsraelThe room is basic and the shower is finicky (you need to leave the water dripping for 15 minutes to get hot water, I succeeded on my 3rd attempt). There is also absolutely nothing around (it is stated in the description), so bring your own food and drinks.
The hotel is a historical building which is conveniently located at the death valley junction, so it's an excellent place to spend the night if you're traveling in the area. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, and the hotel has shared kitchen facilities such as a microwave, a fridge, ice, cold and boiling water. You can also take a tour around the place for 10$.

United StatesWe couldn't stay because of an issue that closed the hotel for the day that we would have stayed. Although we received a phone call, it was unclear and we arrived thinking we would be staying.

DenmarkBoth inside and outside was not Well Kept. Fine idea to keep the place like once was. But repair things!!! … like they would have done in the Old days. Dirty and dusty except from the Room … Wiew from our room (2) was a junk yard… on the other hand…. Our 3. Visit, we like the place a lot, but it is sad to experience that not much is done to repair and clean up

After reading the reviews i was generally pleased by the stay. This hotel is full of local history which I found very interesting. The tour was well worth my time. All the paintings add charm to the place. The room was clean. The beds were very comfortable and the carpet looked to be new. The plumbing was old but by following the directions I had a nice hot shower.
