Didn’t have ice, the machine was broken. There was an Indian lady with long hair I don’t know if she is the owner or who but she was really rude and hateful.
Property was ok. Right off the road so a lot of noise due to traffic

Back entrance was blocked. Whap appeared to be abandoned cars in the parking lot. The lady at the front was hard for me to understand. The tv kept some logos that kept popping up like it was in demo mode. I did not see a do not disturb placard to hang on the knob and someone came to make the beds while we were gone

The only staff member I interacted with or ever saw was an elderly Indian lady. She was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. I’m not even sure why this property is listed on booking, as they tell every person that enters they don’t take online reservations….. it really shouldn’t even be listed on this platform
The property was convenient to where I was needing to be. The street view is fine.

TV didn't work. Every night I got back to the hotel, my key didn't work and I had to go to the desk to get it rekeyed.

The day time staff was slightly rude but the night time staff was friendly. The breakfast options were mediocre bagels and cereal. I did not see coffee or tea offered. The room was dirty handprints all over on the walls and dirty carpet, wholes in the door of the bathroom, and mildew on the roof of the bathroom. The cleanliness was ultimately the deal breaker for me.
The outside of the facility was nice, it was in a good location, and the price was good.

Everything is old and worn out. Example: the toilet seat was not connected to the toilet base; it was just sitting on top of the toilet. Have you ever tried taking a dump while slipping back and fourth across the top of a toilet??? Not good; this is a basic item I expect in a motel.
Location to Blue Ridge Parkway. Nightly rate. You could see where a lot of cleaning had taken place, but everything was worn out.

At 0830 am on Saturday the 20th of May. The hotel proprietor of the Amercian Motel at 350 Wilkesboro Blvd NE, Lenoir, NC 28645, told my wife that I, a disabled vet, can't park my truck with the handicapped disabled veteran license plate, in the handicapped parking spot. Which is perfectly legal. Not to mention they have a Nissan Maxima double parked directly in front of the hotel that's disabled. Taking up 2 parking spots from customers. Also another disabled vehicle directly in front of the hotel, which all 4 tires are flat, that has been here for a long time. Taking up yet another spot from customers. Surely there must be some kind of city ordinance against this.

The place had a odor to room. It needs to be srubbed down and cleaned good. We bought lysol and sprayed the room down. Toilet stopped working on 1st night. They fixed it and the 2nd night it stopped again. Lots of noise from road.

Not enough towels, rags,soap,etc for a family of 4. No coffee pot. Was in a non-smoking room and I went outside to balcony to smoke and was told by management I couldn't even smoke there!

The modern hotel next door that traps you inside as soon as you walk through the front door.
Last of the great motels! You're not couped up like moder hotels, hallway instead of walkways. walk out the door and you have a railing to lean on and fresh air to breath. Old school is the best!
