Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I booked this hotel thinking it had an outside balcony but realized once I got there, the balcony was inside the hotel overlooking the banquet hall, which I don't understand why. I was definitely upset since I am a smoker and the hotel was smoke free

Wifi should included into the rate. It should not have separate cost !

My room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. It was one of the interior rooms. The food at the restaurant was good and all staff could not have been more pleasant and professional. The location was perfect for my needs.

However I booked 2 queen beds but they gave me 1 queen + 1 sofa which was disappointing. They said all sold out. Also they charged me a higher price than I have got it from booking. This was not a good experience.

I didn't like that the staff questioned my booking. I booked for my wife & child on my account and showed confirmation of me doing so. Yet I still had to grab my wife's identification as well. I get it, however as the owner of the account it should supersede. I also had to pay at the counter... I'm glad I was there, cause if I wasn't I wouldn't expect my wife to pay, when I confirmed the rates and thought I had purchased the booking. Also My wife asked the representative about the breakfast, and the rep did not state that the breakfast would be charged. Which is why I was puzzled when I was charged, and a new representative at the breakfast also didn't mention breakfast was to be paid as well. Ask questions, and hope to receive full answers so confusion doesn't exist. Had I grabbed a bagel & 1 orange juice $60 flat rate would be diabolical lol
Area was perfect, scenery to die for via the lobby. Almost felt like a movie scene. This chain of hotels is one of a kind for making you feel like you've made it lol

Being woken up continuously by housekeeping in the morning around 10 rushing us to head out the door when check out clearly says 12pm.

Rooms overlook an atrium -- SO NOISY. Curtains blocked out light, but not noise. Beautiful design for a hotel, but SO LOUD. We needed two beds (parents and teenaged son); the rooms with two beds had two full/double beds -- too small for me and my 6'4" husband! Next time I will look for hotel with queen size beds.
Great location for quick overnight/airport stay. Clean, comfortable beds.

I didn’t care for the handicapped room that we were given but it was clean and comfortable. Room needs some updating but again it was very clean and comfortable.
I appreciated that there was complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning, however, I was unsure if there was a complimentary breakfast also. Close proximity to the mall.

1) Food was terrible 2 decor and all dated compared to other hotels I stayed in closer to DC..

little bit of trash at the entrance. plus it was loud in the lobby, probably due to a wedding.
It was great, close to the mall and shopping, restaurants. The rooms were clean and everything worked fine.

Everything was as good as I expected. A definite must if you are visiting the area.

The room was for 4 guests. The hotel needs to have bath towels for 4 guests. Why is there no free wifi.
