Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe had a problem with the fire alarm bleep in the hotel room. We complained to the hotel on Saturday afternoon , the bleep stopped. Sunday night we were woken at 3.00 with the returning bleed. On Monday we complained again this time it was fixed. We agreed compensation of $210 with the hotel, but we're told at check out today that this was not possible as our booking.com payment was non refundable.I the end the hotel said they would refund booking .com, hope fully we will receive this.....

United StatesNo coffee or water was available in the lobby. This was a major disappointment. No coffee makers were in the room although we were told we could request a coffee machine and would be charged $3.00/ pod! In addition the heat in our room was 75 degrees even during the night and we were told that there was nothing that could done to cool the room except to open the window. For an expensive hotel, this was unacceptable!
Very spacious and clean rooms. Cafe on site had a very tasty breakfast. Employees were very friendly. Bed was comfortable and room layout was nice.

AustraliaCould be amazing but let down by some basic items that could be fixed. The heating did not work (and it was cold…) and after complaining 3 times, it emerged they didn’t turn it on. What the? It seems it has to be less than zero for them to do that. Weird. Staff not very friendly or helpful, the complete opposite of everyone else in the hospitality industry in NYC. No complementary water which really irritates me given how many other hotels at least provide 1-2 free bottles per day.
Location was amazing. Funky looking hotel. Gym was fantastic. Rooftop was cool but don’t eat there (crazy expensive).

ItalyThe pool said to be heated but it washed, I went with the kids in the morning and it was freezing.
The staff was nice , the location is great, rooms are ok , modern with good bathrooms, price is high but so is all of NYC, the coffee place for breakfast is tiny but nice.

It’s a very modern hotel and room, and very spacious by Manhattan standards. It is in the heart of the Meatpacking district and an overall great location in the city.

AustraliaNo tea making facilities in the room. You need to request a kettle and cups from housekeeping.
The location is fantastic. Very quiet area and close to the Highline. Excellent bed and great windows over the street. Low buildings around so the views are great, and has a feeling of spaciousness. Would highly recommend for the location, though it is on the dearer side.

United KingdomHere’s an example of an “OK/Good” review based on your experience: Nice Hotel, but Not Without Its Flaws We recently stayed at Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC, and while there were some highlights, it wasn’t without its downsides. The positives: the hotel is clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable bed and very soft pillows (although we did need to request an extra one). The gym and sauna are excellent—well-equipped with new machines, perfect for a good workout. There’s also a pool on the rooftop, which they describe as “heated,” but it felt quite cold to me. On the plus side, the hotel boasts its own Banksy painting, which is a unique touch. Our room had a “good view,” though it was somewhat overshadowed by filthy exterior windows. The downsides: the food and drinks are very expensive, with limited options. It’s also a very pretentious hotel that seems to cater to the Instagram crowd. While most of the staff were friendly, a few gave off an air of superiority, as if you should feel honored to be staying there. Overall, it’s a stylish hotel with some nice amenities, but it’s not perfect. It’s best suited for those who value aesthetics and trendy vibes over substance. Does this capture your experience accurately?

United StatesThe shower in tub without a fully closing door made it hard to keep water off the bathroom floor when showering. Lobby level restaurant staff could be a bit more observant and responsive.
I appreciated that the hotel has a staff member at the door or in the lobby making sure nobody comes in that doesn't belong there - felt safe. Room was quiet and comfortable.

United KingdomI really can't think of anything I would change. I asked for the sofa bed to be made up before our arrival as our flight was coming in late and this message didn't get relayed to housekeeping. The issue was sorted very quickly and I was given a credit to spend in the restaurant/bar by way of apology.
Great location-walkable to East Village and plenty of great restaurants and bars. Loved walking along the Hudson River in the morning. Amazing sunsets at roof top bar.
