Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesHonestly, everything about the place itself was perfect! We would absolutely love it if Huttopia would add an electric vehicle charger on site. The area has VERY limited Level 2 charger access and zero CCS DC Fast charging stations. We’d be willing to pay a premium to access an on-site level 2 EV charger overnight. It would be great if you even just had an available 50amp outlet that guests could use to plug in their own chargers. We rent cabins in Maine ourselves and providing access to an outlet is really appreciated by environmentally conscious guests.
The chalet was absolutely wonderful! It adorable and smells like freshly cut wood. We loved being nestled in the woods. The cabin was cozy and warm and immaculately clean. The beds were comfortable. It had all the items we needed for our stay and the snow outside was beautiful. This is the perfect spot for folks visiting the area to ski or go tubing or just to relax.

United StatesBathroom was a little bit small, and bit smelly. Someone with long legs would have their knees bump into wall while sitting on the toilet.
Very clean and thoughtfully designed glamping tent. It was nice that they provided a barbeque, for those of us incompetent at starting fires :) We went in the fall when it was quite cold. The room had a space heater (albeit on a timer), which was also very nice. The camp grounds themselves are beautiful. Toddler son had a lot of fun.

United StatesNot a portable heater. It’s only in the dining room and the bedrooms were cold all over the night. The people who stayed before us didn’t clean the vessels properly at all. Apart from these all is very well.

United StatesThe large hole in the front of our site was filled with murky water and refilled each time it rained. The dumpsters were difficult to open.
The beach area is a very nice addition to the property. We especially liked the kayaks. The pool was clean and well cared for. The variety of games was a welcome option from water play.

CanadaWe booked a Canadienne tent because it was « heated » but in fact it’s not really. I think the description on booking is a little bit misleading. It’s in fact a lamp that you use to heat a terrace with a 30 minutes timer. While we were there the temperature was around 1 degree and we were never able to heat our tent. Luckily we had our sleepingbags. I have stayed in similar accomodation in the rockies during nights as cold as it was during our stay and they had a REAL heating system with no timer… so I think that I kind expected the same with Huttopia.
Amazing location and great concept !

United StatesAs others have said, as the weather gets cooler the in-hut heater is a bit weak. But the beds with thermal sleeping bag-style blankets were very warm, so it wasn't really an issue. Also because it's a tent there is some noise outside from people talking, cars on rt. 16, etc., so bring earplugs if you need to!
Had a great stay at Huttopia! We didn't know quite what to expect but the stay exceeded all our expectations. Our trappeur hut was very comfortable, the setting was beautiful with the lake nearby, and we had nice nights with fires and grilled dinners. You leave your car in a designated parking area and use little wagons to bring your stuff to your hut, which is a really nice touch as it means the actual hut areas are car-free. Overall a great location right near all the White Mountains points of interest, but also a bit removed from the sprawl of North Conway, which is another huge plus. It looks like there are some fun facilities and activities near the reception area in the warmer months, so we won't hesitate to come back.

United StatesI didn't like that the bathroom felt like a closet. I though that there was a stove or hot plate and there was not. I didn't like that they charge you if you want them to clean up after you leave.
I liked the set up of the tent.

United StatesOther than food truck not available our experience was just the best! We loved our tent location and all the amenities! We can’t stop talking about it!
Disappointed that the food truck was not open during our stay. We were not informed that there would be no food or coffee available, but should have been more prepared and brought our own.

United StatesWe found nothing about the property that we didn’t like.
The Chalet was clean and the view was private and quiet. Had everything you’d need including plates and cook wear. The lake was great and with the ability to rent canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. The heated salt water pool was the kids favorite place to be and the staff was helpful whenever we needed them. They thought of every little detail to make sure your stay is perfect!

I arrived at 6.30pm. No one to greet me. Envelope with my name on it and map inside, stuck on the door. It was very dark and I had a hard time finding my tent. Could not see any tent numbers. It was pure luck that I stumbled upon it. Next morning I discovered a tiny number painted on bottom of the tent structure - no way anyone could see it in the dark. I was awoken at midnight by people in neighboring tent making loud disturbances, using amplified speakers. This went on for 2 hours - no sleep whatsoever. I had no phone number to call to ask for assistance. Is there even assistance available during the night? Also the lantern was not working properly - it would not stay on. It was scary being in a tent in the near dark on my own. Plus the door of tent had a flimsy eye and hook lock, that would no way keep out intruders. I did not sleep a wink all night! To wrap it up, facilities were clean. The place seemed nice. But very disappointed that no one called me to say the office would be closed and that I’d have to manage myself to find the tent etc. Lighting needs to be improved, so those arriving at dusk or later can find their way around. Also large fluorescent signs outside the tents with numbers on them would be most helpful in locating the tent in the dark. Better locks on the tent doors are needed and phone number listed in the welcome manual on how to reach someone when there are disturbances from fellow guests and help is needed.
