Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesI wish there was kleenex, shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers in shower, a soap dish for the soap on sink. Light switch in bathroom would be better at the door instead of clear across the other side by the toilet.
Love the character and atmosphere of this historic building and rooms. Has so much charm. Beds were comfy and establishment clean. Love Northland Pub and the Crow's Nest offering great food and drinks. Ideal location. Walking distance to everything!

United StatesWe have stayed here before and had a very charming old style vibe about it, this room was just like we were at any old average hotel. Not all the rooms are the same, if we had stayed in this room the first time here, I would not have booked it again
It’s close to downtown

AustraliaNo breakfast available - not sure why as facilities there. Perhaps we were staying a bit out of season ( end of April). Coop in town had supplies though and fridge and microwave in the room for DIY
Great location in walking distance of town and on the lake shore

United StatesThis time the staff seemed sort of stand off ish so I didn’t engage much but in many days stayed a week no one offered to even sweep the mud out . Seemed like everyone was gone but I guess because of Christmas but regardless some of us were still there for the joy of the time .
I have been here before and will continue to come here for leisure! Nice location pretty hotel .

United StatesThe room could use a dresser, but did like that there were two suitcase holders and a closet, so this is really nitpicking!
Loved the charm of the hotel from the moment we walked in. The fire in the fireplace in the lobby, the welcoming chair groupings, the friendly staff. Our room was clean and cozy, large bathroom, comfy beds. Loved the upstairs bar - Crow's Nest. Staff was fun and knowledgeable, vibe was great.

United KingdomNothing, this is a great location and well worth your time!
This iconic location offers the best views of Lake Superior one could hope for! Our room was large, comfortable and all very high quality. John who checked us in was incredible; friendly, professional and very helpful and recommended the Trivia Quiz to us which was turned out to be fantastic fun and a great way to spend the night! Everyone we met from the restaurant staff to the bar made us very welcome and matched the grandeur and quality of the Landmark Inn. Plenty of parking and coffee in the lobby in the morning as well!

United StatesThe facility itself seems to be a little tired. We really struggle to get the temperature in our room right, either too hot or too cold and didn't feel like there was much air movement at all.
Breakfast was great, we also had a group dinner which was wonderful and loved the 6th floor bar.

United StatesThe employees, staff, and the pillows were my favorite. Slept live a rock.
My daughter and I thought the food was great, cocktails a little pricey. Interesting ghost stories. Loved the atmosphere. The room was nice and cozy except for the bathroom. It wasn't cleaned very well. It was hard to get an accurate price on line or by phone, they all had a different price. Overall I would stay again and also recommend if you're going to stay in Marquette Michigan.

United StatesThe price It was way overpriced for the room we had The wall hangings were cheap Nothing vintage or attractive about the room Was expecting a pristine old fashioned room like the lobby was But the room was just ok I was floored by the price per night I paid it because I thought it would be worth it Someone needs to find aome beautiful artwork for the rooms and the wallpaper was coming down in places Just needs more attention to detail to charge that much per night But the location was fabulous
The location was great The hotel was beautiful The three different places to eat were nice to have in the building!
