Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

As soon as we arrived, we were made very welcome by the staff, especially June at reception. We were upgraded to a very pleasant suite. The rooms are very spacious for New York and very well soundproofed. The hotel isn't modern, but it's conveniently located between Central Park and Times Square, with a bike station in front of the hotel. We'll be glad to come back.

UkraineThis is a very old hotel with outdated management. The internet almost never worked, and if you want stable Wi-Fi for work, you have to pay extra – which is a very strange decision in the 21st century, especially in New York. They even charge for TV channels – something I’ve never seen anywhere in Europe. The room keys kept deactivating. In just one day, we couldn’t get into our room three times. ⚠️ Important: they do not provide a proper invoice. I requested it multiple times and still haven’t received one.
excellent location – everything was within walking distance: shops, restaurants. It was very easy to explore the area and get around without needing a car.

United StatesNot all front desk staff was knowledgeable of what the hotel offered.
The location was excellent. Close to so many iconic locations and easy to find. Also the food was wonderful! The staff was extremely helpful with a special shout out to the doorman and to the concierge Daniel.

New ZealandThe smell of weed in the corridors. The breakfast package was not worth the additional price because the menu is limited. We stayed for 11-nights, would have been good for just 3-4 times.
The room size was what was seen in the pictures, very spacious. There are minimal options at the restaurant but many local options. The smell of weed was strong in the corridors. A very tiny exercise room with minimal equipment.

AustraliaThe air conditioner in the room sounded like a MAC truck. Really interfered with sleeping. They ‘made a mistake’ with monies held on our card and not quite ever so politely said it would of course be released and we should receive it in a month!!! Mmmmm certainly hope so!
Room size was good. Housekeeping was exceptional especially norsy(?). Bathroom facilities good

IrelandThe hotel is dated & some features of the room were in need of fixing or updating. But it would not stop us returning. We loved our stay at The Michelangelo.

United KingdomThere is nothing not to like!
Even though it was central, the hotel was quiet which is paramount. The hotel was relaxed, very clean with helpful staff. If I requested anything it was brought to my room within 5 minutes. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, however when I asked if there was a coffee machine I could have, one was sent to my room within 10 minutes at no extra cost. I must mention Kendrick on reception, super friendly/helpful and what a smile! Also our doorman Teodoro, he was the first person we encountered on arrival, so friendly/helpful, they are a real credit to the Michelangelo!

United StatesThe property was a little worn. The carpets in our room and hallways were stained and worn. The Bellman was a little sneaky acting as if he had called the cab, taking the tip when in fact he had not done it. The doorman called the cab and we tipped again. Pretty minor things overall.
Excellent Location and helpful and friendly front desk and cleaning staff. Very comfortable beds and quiet rooms. The front desk was very nice.

United StatesOur first stay at the Michelangelo Hotel and we were mightily impressed. The cleaning personnel were the most accommodating and friendly people we’ve ever encountered in a midtown hotel. The lobby was peaceful with only short waits at the front desk. The location for shopping, walking, theaters and Times Square rate at the top! We were cancelled at our go-to hotel due to renovations - but we now have a new go-to. Thank you Michelangelo Hotel!

Switzerlandmy only suggestion would be (for being an half Italian hotel) to improve the price of the coffees served in the lounge bar, an espresso macchiato cannot cost 8usd like a latte macchiato where you have 20 times as much milk 😊
The key selling point of this hotel in my view is the atmosphere of relaxation you feel once in your room, which, after a long day sightseeing in the caos of New York is very important. The rooms are very big, the decor is a bit old fashioned but cosy and in good state, bed very big and comfortable, same goes for the bathroom. There are no real views, at least our bedrooms didn't have one. The carpet in the room is very thick and soft. The staff is all very friendly, I had a very nice chat with the door man, which is soooo NYC

United KingdomNothing.
Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. As Brits, we like to have a kettle in our room, and one was provided within minutes of asking. The room was quiet, a good size and smartly furnished. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Checking out and the hailing of a taxi all went very smoothly. Highly recommended.
