The hotel does not serve breakfast, and there is no nearby grocery store. The streets to the university are not lit during night and do not have sidewalks, which is a problem when walking back from the university after sunset.

The lady at the reception was extremely nice and helpful, let me check in at 10:30AM. The room was large and comfortable. The surrounding is quiet.

Lack of TV service. Normally that wouldn't have bothered me but there were events I wanted to watch live and wasn't able to.

The facilities and location were beautiful. There was a problem with the cable and we were not able to get TV service during our stay, but that was the only negative.

Room (in Cottage) was smaller than expected, with limited as-sundries (i.e., no in room water bottles, no refrigerator).

Location was great (near the bay) and near everything (restaurants, museums, and small quaint shops) within the town of Stony Brook. Ample parking near the room. Staff was very courteous.

I would have liked some bottled drinking water in the room. Also, the mini-split heat/AC unit was hard to figure out.

I liked the quiet, private room. The king size bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was beautifully updated. The Keurig in the room was great for having my nighttime tea and morning coffee. The location was perfect, right next door to my event venue.

The furnitures are old. The chest drawer handle is missing.

The biggest issue is we could hear our neighbors as though they were in the same room. Woken up at 3am by someone talking too loud next door. The blinds had to be closed by hand (e.g. the mechanism on the blinds used to open and close them) were broken. Not enough lighting in the bathroom (very dim) Toilet seat is was very loose Two persons at the bar, one was doing all the work. Took a long time to get served.

Beautiful setting, quaint and tastefully laid out and decorated cottages. Spacious Private parking with the unit Dinner at the restaurant was good, service was fabulous.

The mini fridge didn't work. One outlet by the bed was also out, and the bathroom needed a better ventilation fan for the shower.

The location was great, close to lots of great restaurants and shops, beautiful scenery, the staff was friendly, easy of check in.

Beautiful surroundings, peaceful, perfect place to walk along shore, kayak, fish. Nice restaurants in area. Mirabels Restaurant was excellent as well as dessert.

Pricey and still no breakfast included; no frig, no microwave, no fitness room. Furniture very old. The bathroom door would not stay shut. The shower did not drain. Narrow stairway difficult to carry luggage to second floor.

For the location and price I think they need to change from cheap pillows and towels and upgrade. The lights were falling off the walls in the Strong Cottage.
