Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location seemed to be right on the edge of the good part of the area.
The staff was excellent! Very helpful and friendly. The hotel looks like it was recently remodeled. The bathroom fixtures were top-notch Grohe and everything was very clean. Morning breakfast had a good variety and staff was great!

There were more healthy choice options for breakfast- i would increase these.
The staff went above and beyond to make our requests happen. All of the staff was professional and had great attention to details.

Very little sound-proofing between floors. It sounded like an elephant was staying in the room above. It is hard to use an iron that Is attached to the ironing board.
The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The fan was great for blocking outside noises.

The parking can be a little tight for bigger vehicles. The hallway can be loud when doors slam and depending on what floor you are on you can hear the person upstairs. I was on the second floor.
The property and the room was clean. The hotel room actually looks like the picture online. Also, the property manager allowed my family and I to check in early upon arrival. I really appreciated it.

Room size not as expected in pictures, smaller, would be nice to have a small dining table had to use the desk for eating. But they did have nice outdoor eating area.
Clean everything. Coffee all day. Comfortable beds and plenty of pillows and towels. Love the shower!

Room door had no insulation. All the road noise krept under the door and woke us up numerous times. ALL hotels need more standard towel racks so we can reuse a DRiED towel.
Clean, remodeled and refreshed. New rooms and bathrooms. Easy free parking.

Change out the breakfast sandwich with sausage, third day was repeated, scrambled egg or egg and sausage sandwich.
Waffles were excellent. It would of been nice to change to scrambled egg and bacon instead of sausage sandwich every morning. Third day got old to eat the same thing.

Traffic noise and neighbouring guests coming out of their room at 3am shouting to the main reception with no regard for anyone else.

Nicely renovated motel style hotel with breakfast buffet, parking and a pool (did not use). We stayed here and returned to stay a second time, staff is friendly and helpful. Mini fridge, Microwave and Coffee ensuite. Recommend the Mountain View rooms on the third floor.

Only one criticism.....the outside heated pool wasn't very warm. I planned on using it but just too cold.
The breakfast was good. Waffles, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, cereal, coffee, and orange juice. The two ladies that kept it stocked were very attentive and kept the area very clean. Our room look like it had recently been updated. Very clean and nicely maintained. Really comfortable bed and a large flat screen t.v. It was a very stylishly decorated room and the bathroom was also really nice. Closet, fridge and microwave too!

Nothing significant—my stay was smooth, and the service was top-notch.
The breakfast was great, with fresh, crisp bagels and warm, comforting coffee—but honestly, that’s not the reason I chose to stay here. The bed was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for rest after a long flight. What made this place truly special to me, though, was the location and nostalgia. 23 years ago, I lived right across the street at 42 North Michigan Avenue, back when this hotel was still Vagabond Inn. The service was outstanding—the cashier even waited for me in the middle of the night to check in after my long journey. That level of care and hospitality made a lasting impression.
