Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThis guesthouse was such a gem – super cozy, beautifully decorated, and with a really warm, welcoming vibe. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with great tips and info about the area. You could really tell they care about their guests. The pool was a total highlight – perfect for a relaxed afternoon. The whole place just had this calm, inviting feel to it. Plus, the location was spot on: surrounded by cute cafés, bistros, and little shops – everything you need just a short walk away. And honestly, for what you get, the price is more than fair. Great value for money. I’d come back in a heartbeat!

United StatesThat I can't stay longer.
I'm so happy I found this place, I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Maui. The room was very nice, it had all the amenities we needed during our stay. Fridge, microwave, dishes, small oven, hot kettle pot, even dish soap to wash our dishes. Maureen was amazing, she was very responsive and answered all our questions before and during our stay. They have beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, cooler and even beach towels for us to use. This definitely made our beach days so much better. I can't wait to come back. Plus it's local to restaurants and grocery stores.

CanadaSelf closing doors caused me to be locked out, but also I wasn't careful enough to carry the key as I exited. Perhaps including a cautionary reminder within the check-in instructions would be helpful.
Directions to the location were clear, as well as the self check in instructions. Clean room, fantastic linens, and comfortable bed. Adequate parking is available, although if your rent an SUV, it will be tight. Lovely Host (Maureen).

United StatesThe room was small and there was no closet
I loved the informality and attention Small details, which make a trip so comfortable. For example, Besides the usual microwave, refrigerator, And TV, There was a flashlight in the In the nightstand drawer, simple eating utensils and a corkscrew extra beach chairs for the pool, which was absolutely gorgeous with a wonderful and comfortable lounging chairs and tables for a very laid-back comfortable stay.

United StatesThese are just suggestions to make it even better, but we pretty much loved everything. The Mill room would benefit a new lock/key. The cleaning lady could be a bit more proactive and thorough. The cleaning machine in the swimming pool could be removed during the day to facilitate the swimming. Be mindful if you choose the Queen room, it’s small, it doesn’t have a kitchen and if you are staying for more than a couple of days you might want to consider an upgrade. Maui is an expensive island and we appreciated the relatively low rates of this lovely B&B.
My husband and I loved our staying! Our room was decorated with taste, swimming pool and cabana were beautiful, perfect to rest after a long day of exploring or just to enjoy a meal. The location is very convenient to visit both side of the island, close to the airport and to many stores. Maureen is a very attentive host, she will make sure that you get everything you need in no time. Her pets are lovely. The other guests were respectful, nice and the environment was really friendly and relaxing. The host provides beach towels, cooler, snorkeling tools and beach chairs. We couldn’t hope for more. We definitely recommend this wonderful B&B and we will come back.

I would highly recommend Wailuku Guesthouse to others, when staying on Maui. What a beautiful property. Wish I had enjoyed more of the amenities such as the pool. I love that they had a small personal cooler with an ice pack, towels, small fridge available for your use during your stay and not to mention the beach, chairs and umbrella!

United StatesThe only thing that was unfortunate for me was the 10 am check out. I understand why though. The cleaning lady needs time to get to all the rooms before the next check in. Still, noon would have been better for us :)
I was shocked how lovely the entire property is. The pool, the plants, the birds in the owners private yard, etc. I love that we were able to use coolers, sand/lawn chairs, snorkels/flippers, etc. Also, I was fortunate to rent the cute little blue car that the owners rent through Turo.com (but only if you are staying at the property). It is such a great value for the cost of the rooms. Additionally, there is a notebook with suggestions on restaurants, beaches, etc. So helpful! The location is perfect (unless you are beach front of course) because Wailuku is 20-30 min away from all directions of the good beaches. Only an hour away from Haleakala and about 30 min from Leodo's in Lahaina which has amazing food and pies!

Basically quite comfortable and cosy, but not luxurious. One needs to be happy with comfort and cleanliness when aiming for moderate prices. Did love the flower arrangement in room. That was special.

United StatesI didn’t care for the towels. I’m sure microfiber washes and more importantly dries much faster saving all around. That’s my only complaint so as far as I see it I have no complaints.
The owner was very nice and super helpful. The pool was beautiful as were the birds. Maureen made some delicious bread. She shared with me and my grand- daughter.

United StatesThe bathroom in this room is quite small, and some guests would find it difficult to make their needed morning preparations in such a small bathroom. It suited my needs just fine, however. Guests wishing for a larger bathroom should reserve a more expensive room.
The location is only two blocks from the main downtown area of Wailuku, with good access to several restaurants and several bus routes that I used regularly. The room was everything I could ask for. There are several different rooms with different sizes, and I stayed in the Old Mill Room. The room has air conditioning, which I only used in the evenings to cool the room after it heated up in the afternoon. While in a busy part of town, the street itself is fairly quiet most of the time, and a very pleasant location that is also close to many necessary things.

United StatesThe only thing I missed was a little table, but there was no room for it.
Maureen really has her hosting down to a fine art - had lots of tips and was very helpful getting settled in. The room had interesting tropical decor, which set it apart from the cookie cutter style of chain hotels. There were lots of little touches to make guests more comfortable: beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, a beach bag, a cooler, and even an umbrella to take along on day trips.
