This hotel is well located at the very southern edge of Kendal which makes it easy to find. It’s great for exploring both the central Lake District & the south lakes. It’s very well appointed and our room, while compact which is clear in the description was more than comfortable for our stay. The hotel looks like it’s been recently refurbished and they are extending at the back (hidden away) to create more space. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend without reservation.
On the edge of The Lake District, this country inn offers rooms with private bathrooms, traditionally furnished, each room features a TV, and tea and coffee-making facilities.

1 night stay to be close to the train station. Very busy inn, but friendly staff even while run off their feet. Lots of seating spaces and plenty of parking. Huge dinner. Unfortunately, we had to leave for the train before breakfast, so can't rate that.
In Kendal town centre, the Riverside Hotel is a 17th-century building with a state-of-the-art leisure club. Rooms have river views, and Windermere and the Yorkshire Dales are 15 minutes' drive away.

I find this hotel homely and comfortable on each occasion that I stay. It is conveniently close to the town centre. Although I didn’t use on this visit, I like that it has a small leisure club.

The attention to detail sets this place apart from other places we have stayed in. We chose the hotel because we liked the look of the restaurant, and it exceeded expectation. The bar was lovely to sit in, with the gorgeous smell of the fire burning in the background. Finally, one of the best breakfast options we have experienced in as long as I can remember, and all beautifully displayed

A really lovely place to rest and recuperate after a long drive and the hustle and bustle of the large towns at the Lakes. Access to a games room in the evening was very relaxing. There is a large fridge for you keep everything for your self-prepared breakfast. Very comfy bed and excellent shower.
Garden Cottage is beautifully presented in an elevated position. Chris and Jill are lovely hosts and provided a range of welcome provisions for our arrival and offered helpful guidance on nearby walks and beauty spots. The kitchen was very well equipped with unexpected additions including a coffee maker and air fryer. The bedrooms were bright and airy with comfortable beds assuring a restful sleep. The double aspect lounge allowed opportunity for relaxation in the evenings after days of touring and sight seeing.
Lovely hotel, upon arrival we were upgraded to an exec suite it was fab and a really nice surprise. It was a really big room, huge bay window overlooking gardens and countryside views. Booked a swim for next morning which I really enjoyed along with sauna, excellent facilities in this leisure area. All staff warm, welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend a stay at castle green.
This was perfect for our needs as a multigenerational family meeting point before a funeral. Very comfortable with space for different groups to relax. Geoff was a great host and responded promptly to queries. Thanks for the welcome pack.
Good position for exploring south lakes. Lovely bike shop over the road!
The location was good, shops easily accessible. The flat was lovely and clean, with good quality appliances. The parking permit was a bonus and car park close by .The place was clean , beds very comfortable. Netflix was great so could relax in the evenings with a movie. All in all would highly recommend as previously have stayed in nearby hotel but as this was self catering suited family better at a much better price.
A gorgeous cottage less than 2 miles from Kendal. Well-appointed property, fluffy luxury towels, complimentary welcome basket included a bottle of wine!
A lovely setting and beautiful views from every window, although quite a dangerous position as close to a turn and slightly concealed entrance.
Good facilities, very clean and comfortable beds.
I could happily live there :) I wish there was a facility to add additional photos here.
We stayed at the hotel for my boyfriends 21st birthday. The hotel put a card and a box of chocolates in the room which was a lovely surprise! The view was amazing from our room. We enjoyed using the pool and steam room - very relaxing. The room itself was very clean, staff were happy to help and the breakfast was outstanding with a good variety of everything. We asked for a window seat and that was no problem for the staff member!
