Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including cycling and hiking. The resort also offers free use of bicycles and bike hire. Pakse International Airport is 62 km away. Birding/bird watching. location was outstanding, bungalow overlooking the wetlands, watching sunrise from bed with doors open to hear the sounds of birds, insects and water buffalow and the pool right on the edge of the wetlands all made for an amazing stay. food was great and the breakfast (included) was wonderful. the staff were so friendly and informative about the area. organized trips from the lodge (trekking and canoe trip) were greatly enjoyed.

We were sad to leave today, if you find yourself in this part of Laos I highly recommend The River Resort ❤️

Guests can buy various souvenirs in the shop on site and sample local coffee, made from organic coffee beans grown in the Bolaven Plateau at the coffee shop. Very empty this time of the year (surprisingly as it is spot on) so perfect for the chilling out for couple of days. Infinity swimming pool with the view over the valley is great. Sauna is located nearby the pool.

The Xuanmai Garden Resort is an amazing place tp stay in Pakse and also for visiting the Bolaven. The Resort is run by the nicest family ever! Ngoc is working at the reception and is also an amazing cook! She helped us with everything during our stay. We rented also a motorbike, left our big bagpacks at the resort and went for the Bolaven!

The view is amazing, there are only 3 rooms so you got lot of privacy in the deck where we just loved to spend the day. Staff is extremly friendly and helpful. The food os good quality and good price, eventhough only local options are offered (but mostly everywhere in Don Det). Expect some insects, it’s nature and even if extremly clean they will appear, is not a resort.

This guesthouse is so absolutely great! Tina the owner is soooo nice! She will go 10000 extra miles to make your stay incredible! The room is very clean and nice! It’s fantastic to eat dinner with the family (Lao style) and you can also ask for breakfast! If you are a luxury hotel type, don’t go here! This is the real life and this lovely Famliy only needs the people who appreciate this! So go for Tina and Heaven guesthouse! Give her full star 🌟 on booking!!!!! She deserve 10 stars! It was simple but everything what you need. Back to the roots! No luxury - if you need this you are at the wrong place and island. Good bed, but no extra bedsheets. Very good cafe- brilliant start in a relaxing day, my advise: start like this every day. Nice conversation with the owner. You also get good tips and he organized things if you need anything. It was very chill, in from of the river. Obviously, one should not expect the same comfort as in a resort. But it corresponded to the pictures posted. One can easily reach Don Det, that seemed to have more "nightlife". They also organized the travel to Siem Reap, which saved a bit of organization.
