To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

South AfricaThey put a holding deposit on our cards without prior knowledge or agreement. These deposits were not released after departure, by the Finance Dept, as was promised. Our bank could not release the amount as it was on hold by Manhattan Club. We really struggled to get a release of these funds and had to phone, send e-mails and with much struggling, eventually had the hold released weeks after check-out. A very unpleasant experience!
Excellent stay in the heart of Manhattan. Well appointed rooms close to everything - especially Central Park, Rockettes, Rockefeller Centre and most other sites.

United States of AmericaThere are only 2 guest elevators and 2 service elevators and they're small so taking 15+ flights of stairs (down) is quicker than waiting in the morning and evening. Also, we had only 2 of our 4 suites together. We also weren't allowed to eat dinner up in the lounge. Also, one of the rooms was really hot and we had to just turn off the heat to keep it cool enough to sleep- but it's an old building.
I liked the general set up of the suites. It was nice to have a little eating area, TV area, and bed. Having a usable fridge is great. The cleaning staff were lovely. We were able to use the lounge during the day for a lunch meal with our group. The location is FANTASTIC. Bathrooms have been updated.

United States of AmericaWe did book our stay with bookings.com. On their website, they showed a picture of a separate bedroom and a living room. When we arrived, we were given a room that was one bedroom and living room combined. We were disappointed about this and also one of our relatives opened up a bottle of water and we were charged an exorbitant amount on the bill for this.
We enjoyed our stay in New York City here. The staff was quite friendly and very helpful. The rooms were very clean.

United States of AmericaThe continental breakfast was much toooooo expensive for what was provided. We stay at Many Holiday Inns who room, Homewood suites home and Homewood Suites throughout the country and get a better breakfast selection than what we had. For the price of nearly $30 a person there should be an omelette station, cooked meats, and several other selections of a hot breakfast. This was the most disappointing part of our stay at the MC. Either increase your selection to a great hot breakfast or lower your price to maybe $15 a person. Also, I don’t know how you would fix this part, but waiting in long lines at the elevators on the various floors was very inconvenient. My son who was with us travels extensively for work, and is in many hotels throughout the country every week. As we waited and waited, and waited for an available elevator to be able to go down in or go up, I asked was if this typical, he said no he’s never experienced this. This may not be something that can be fixed.
The property was beautiful, convenient to the Lincoln Center area, most staff very nice, friendly, professional, and helpful. Many local restaurants nearby was great. Ate dinner right across the street at Redeye Grill - Fantastic! .
