The owners were incredible and very welcoming, I had great chats with Yoshi throughout my stay and he was gracious enough to give me a ride to the main bus station on my check out day which was a great help! The private hot spring in the bathroom was amazing and the dinner and breakfast were both delicious, the food was incredible! The view of Mt. Fuji from the hotel is also fantastic!

Located just a minute's walk from Kawaguchiko Lake, Kawaguchiko Lakeside Hotel offers accommodation in Fujikawaguchiko, near Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge. Free WiFi is available throughout the entire property. The hotel is a minutes' walk away from the shores of Kawaguchiko and Kawaguchiko Herbkan.

We came for the view which, from our room, exceeded expectations. We will come back because of the awesome staff who went out of their way to make us feel at home. We stayed one night on our way from Tokyo to Kyoto by train. We ordered dinner the night of arrival and breakfast the next day. Both were delicious, traditional Japanese meals served with a spectacular view of Mt Fuji. Our waitress inquired where we were headed and recommended we consider an express bus to Mishima where we could get a bullet train to Kyoto. We agreed and before we knew it she had already made reservations for us! This saved us at least an hour and the misery of several train stops. Not fully evident from the property description is the supreme location of the hotel. As the name suggests, it’s near the lake, but also within walking distance of convenience stores, restaurants and several shops. The hotel also offers shuttle service to and from the train station. If you are planning a stay in Kawaguchiko (which you should) and want to be pampered with the full Japanese experience, let Lakeside Hotel pamper you as they did our family.

Overlooking picturesque Kawaguchi Lake in the serene Mount Fuji area, Rakuyu boasts comfortable guest rooms and natural hot spring baths. Free Wi-Fi is provided in the public area.

The panoramic lake views and a cosy fireplace await guests in the lobby. Guests can rewind in the spacious hot spring bath, or reserve a smaller private bath at an extra charge.

The hotel seemed too expensive compared to where we usually stay in other countries. We knew that Japan was expensive , and there was not much else available in that period. The good surprises were that food and drinks, including wine and cocktails, were available without limits. The Onsen was also free (except the private bath which we tried, and did not add much value). The hotel has a free shuttle that picks you up at the station and is located right next to the funicular. There is also a tourist bus stop next to the hotel. Although Mount Fuji is not visible from the hotel, the rooms have large windows with a fantastic view of the Kawaguchiko lake.

We had an amazing view of Mt Fuji directly from our room! Even though there was a language barrier, the owners were extremely welcoming, kind and made us feel at home :) Breakfast was yummy! Conveniently located across Lawson and there are restaurants around the property for dinner in the evening as well. Wished we stayed longer!

Akaishi Ryokan was the perfect traditional Japanese experience located on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi. Our room looked onto the beautiful Mt Fuji and the rooftop terrace has 360 views of Fuji and also the lake. The rooms are cosy, with tradition futon beds, and the breakfasts are also served beautifully (be aware to specify in advance if you have dietary requirements as the food is just served as you enter).

The hotel is amazing. We had a hot bath which was perfect after a day of walking. The staff were very professional and friendly. The traditional breakfast and dinner (which was included in our booking) were an amazing experience. They bring you a lot of food and we ended up so full 😄 they have public and private onsen. We tried the private onsen and we recommend people to try it :) the view of Mt. Fuji and the lake on the roof is amazing. The room came with the tatami floor and the room was huge. 100% recommend

We also booked dinner set which was so great and filling. The food was well presented and beautiful. Wearing yukata and went to onsen was such a nice experience. Bonus: We didnt know earlier and it caught us by surprise. Every weekend nights, there is firework at the lake. This was very beautiful. We could even see the firework just from our balcony. Most comfortable futons we had in Japan, owner upgraded us to a larger room with a direct view of Mt Fuji for free since we were the only guests in the ryokan. Free hot drinks and the hottest onsen bath imaginable, really rejuvenating. Wonderful hospitality with free yukata loan, 360 views of the lake and mountain from the roof terrace, and the breakfast was delicious. Great facilities and good location.

Really beautiful location as the photos show. This is a traditional Japanese inn (ryokan), which means traditional-style rooms with sliding doors, tatami mats, and futon bedding; a (nude) bathhouse within the hotel facilities; and in our case, a full traditional dinner and breakfast. This is the iconic ryokan experience! I would certainly recommend Ururun Kawaguchiko to anyone else travelling to Japan, and if you can't make it here I would strongly recommend trying to find and stay in a ryokan somewhere else for at least one night.
