Located just a minute's walk from Kawaguchiko Lake, Kawaguchiko Lakeside Hotel offers accommodation in Fujikawaguchiko, near Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge. Free WiFi is available throughout the entire property. The hotel is a minutes' walk away from the shores of Kawaguchiko and Kawaguchiko Herbkan. We came for the view which, from our room, exceeded expectations. We will come back because of the awesome staff who went out of their way to make us feel at home. We stayed one night on our way from Tokyo to Kyoto by train. We ordered dinner the night of arrival and breakfast the next day. Both were delicious, traditional Japanese meals served with a spectacular view of Mt Fuji. Our waitress inquired where we were headed and recommended we consider an express bus to Mishima where we could get a bullet train to Kyoto. We agreed and before we knew it she had already made reservations for us! This saved us at least an hour and the misery of several train stops. Not fully evident from the property description is the supreme location of the hotel. As the name suggests, it’s near the lake, but also within walking distance of convenience stores, restaurants and several shops. The hotel also offers shuttle service to and from the train station. If you are planning a stay in Kawaguchiko (which you should) and want to be pampered with the full Japanese experience, let Lakeside Hotel pamper you as they did our family.

The panoramic lake views and a cosy fireplace await guests in the lobby. Guests can rewind in the spacious hot spring bath, or reserve a smaller private bath at an extra charge.
The hotel seemed too expensive compared to where we usually stay in other countries. We knew that Japan was expensive , and there was not much else available in that period. The good surprises were that food and drinks, including wine and cocktails, were available without limits. The Onsen was also free (except the private bath which we tried, and did not add much value). The hotel has a free shuttle that picks you up at the station and is located right next to the funicular. There is also a tourist bus stop next to the hotel. Although Mount Fuji is not visible from the hotel, the rooms have large windows with a fantastic view of the Kawaguchiko lake.

The hotel is amazing. We had a hot bath which was perfect after a day of walking. The staff were very professional and friendly. The traditional breakfast and dinner (which was included in our booking) were an amazing experience. They bring you a lot of food and we ended up so full 😄 they have public and private onsen. We tried the private onsen and we recommend people to try it :) the view of Mt. Fuji and the lake on the roof is amazing. The room came with the tatami floor and the room was huge. 100% recommend
One of the prettiness hotel we stayed in during our 1 week trip. Very spacious and cozy room, with both modern bed and futon. The place is well taken care of with a huge movie room and lots of other facilities - table tennis, playroom, garden. The onsen and Bath room was not huge, but definitely enough for the whole family, and u will hv it to ur own once u book it. Breakfast was nice. And they brew good coffee in their cafe as well.
The hotel was clean big rooms, futons were comfortable, onsen with view of mt Fuji, staff super helpful, breakfast is a must delicious
Friendly staffs especially the ones who served our dinner as well as the one who made our bed. Thanks guys for making our trip special and fun!!... We also booked dinner set which was so great and filling. The food was well presented and beautiful. Wearing yukata and went to onsen was such a nice experience. Bonus: We didnt know earlier and it caught us by surprise. Every weekend nights, there is firework at the lake. This was very beautiful. We could even see the firework just from our balcony. We love our stay!!!
Lovely ryokan with fuji views! The onsen and breakfast were highlights, as well as the experience of staying in a traditional room with tatami mats and the futon bed. The location is a bit out of the main town but its only a short walk. Easy to get to via public transport from Tokyo too. The staff were very responsive and helpful.
The Japanese style room with futon and tatami mats. We're very surprised how comfortable it was to sleep on a futon mattress. The breakfast was very delicious 😊
A very nice guesthouse and a very gentle host !! 10 minutes by walk from bus stops and Ochino Hakkai. The room is spacious and comfortable, as the futons. The onsen is very appreciable after a day of walk. Will come back with pleasure !
The lakeview was truly mesmerizing and we were lucky to see the surrounding hills shrouded in mist, slowly rising from the fog to shine in the sunlight. The room was very nice traditional style just like the breakfast and the dinner, and we loved their yukata selection for nightwear. My partner enjoyed the onsen very much. The shuttle service came also very handy.
Everything was so magical and exceptional, we had a truly fantastic time. Our host Sara was brilliant and the private onsen in our room was so relaxing and luxurious. The hotel made sure to provide vegetarian meals for my partner and I (we asked in advance as soon as we booked) which was amazing as not many other kaiseki meals in other hotels and ryokans could be made vegetarian. 100 percent reccomend!
perfect stay for anyone who wants to experience a ryokan. it was well stocked with amenities, and they even provided a yukata to wear for the onsen! we liked that we could use the onsen privately for 30 minutes max. each time. the host was very warm and welcoming. i was really looking forward to seeing mt. fuji from our room but the weather did not permit unfortunately :( wish we could’ve stayed longer because the weather had cleared up the next day!!!
