Located in Funchal, within 600 metres of Gorgulho - Gavinas Beach and 2.9 km of Formosa Beach, Vila Vicência provides accommodation with a bar and free WiFi. Great location and staff, they are super friendly! If we come back to Funchal, we definitely are staying there again!

Located close to Funchal’s city centre, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Meliã Madeira Mare offers free WiFi, an indoor and outdoor pool and a spa. Considering it is a 5 star hotel, it is great value for money and the stay and room was five stars all the way. The service and staff are beyond my expectations. I had just completed my 8 day solo walk around the island and asked if it was possible to have a quieter room away from the road (I booked a lateral sea view room with a balcony, which is also excellent itself). Carla at reception was very helpful and found me another room, an unexpected upgrade, with a larger balcony and direct sea view. I also appreciated her sincere recommendation for dinner, specifically "no touristy restaurants please". I listened and had a seafood platter at PVP - Pão, Vinho e Petiscos, opposite the hotel, and it was the best I have had in a long time! My picnic (on the day I couldn't have breakfast), taxis and room changes were all efficiently organised and carried out. Unfortunately, while I was there, the hotel was undergoing some refurbishment due to damage caused by the bad weather, and I think part of the restaurant overlooking the pool was closed, as was the indoor pool. I imagine it would be an even better experience if these areas were not closed. However, we were given plenty of notice of the refurbishment before we checked in. As a substitute, the hotel did well to liaise with the neighbouring hotel to allow us to use their indoor pool. Overall a great stay and only regret is, I could not extend my stay as the hotel was fully booked on my last night in Funchal.

Þetta lúxushótel í Funchal státar af innisundlaug, útisundlaug, heilsulind og víðáttumiklu útsýni yfir Atlantshafið. Herbergin eru með svalir og kapalsjónvarp. Room is comfortable. We really liked saunas and indoor pool, saunas are for extra fee. 5 euros. Outdoor pools were heated. Breakfast is regular. But dinners were very good. No regrets we took it. Thank you.

Allegro Madeira er staðsett í Lido, í 5 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá göngusvæðinu við Funchal. The view was so beautiful and the pool was lovely. It was in the best location to stroll the waterfront shops and easy access to walk to the old town or hop a bus.
