Location was perfect! Short drive to town and walking distance to a popular eatery, Betsey Jane. Room and bathroom were very clean. I personally loved the heated mattress topper. The staff was very helpful in guiding us into things to do and see around Fox Glacier. She also answered our questions about things to do in Franz Josef as we were driving there the next day.

Brown curtains, brown bedspread but despite this it was comfortable, quiet and clean. The receptionist was very, very helpful. We had two rooms with kitchenette so plenty of room. Chairs outside to sit and look up at the mountains. A drive away from the nearest restaurant and shops (unless you really like a good walk after dinner). It's a typical New Zealand motel. Washing and drying machines on site. No stairs to climb.

Nice view of the town over the balcony on the second story. Shower soap and instant coffee provided. Trees behind the motel house Kia, that we could see and hear from the balcony of our room. And although it is next to the road, there is no road noise over night. Very quiet.

It's handy for the town but we were self catering. There's just enough in the kitchenette to do this successfully but there's only 2 of everything. The room was comfortable, the bathroom adequate - what you'd expect in a standard motel though there were some good quality toiletries to make a bit of a difference. Staff were helpful.

Unfortunately our neighbour was smoking outside, so the manager upgraded us again! We were in a two bedroom unit with all the facilities we needed. Motel was on the road to Lake Matheson, which was very convenient for our sunrise trip there.
