Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAwful sound on a night - had to wear headphones to sleep due to club/bar noise. The bonus environment charge was unexpected and significant and the only time it was charged across 5 properties we stayed in Mexico.
Beautiful room with ocean view and lovely beach front accommodation.

GermanyTulum was the highest pricing tourist area we have been to on our roundtrip. This would be probably ok if you are lying at a dreamy sandy beach. But reality is much different: Although it was outside of seaweed season, huge masses of seaweed had been pushed onto the beach and was covering a big part of the water. It smelled very unpleasant and it was impossible to swim. You could say, this is nothing what the hotel can do about. It maybe can not fix the original problem (climate change) or can not force the neighbour hotels to clean their part better, but alltogether they probably can do more: can protect the coastline with barriers (as we have seen in Playa del Carmen) or can clean the beach with bigger machinery (which we have seen in Cancun). I feel really sorry for them, but they need to do more than now. This is really a business threat. One more thing: While swimming in the sea was not possible they closed the pool for maintenance (bad timing).
The hotel is perfectly located at the beach, high class. The staff is friendly and the food very good. But also considering the big downside (see below) the hotel is much too pricy. Knowing the below issue we would not go back to Tulum. There are enough alternatives, e.g. west coast of Cozumel or Isla Mujeres.

United KingdomWe chose Delek Tulum because it looked different from standard hotel rooms — more like a bungalow with an authentic vibe — and it also had its own private beach. Even though the price was quite high, we thought it would be worth it. Unfortunately, our stay fell far below expectations. First of all, there was still a lot of seaweed along the shore. While we didn’t experience any bad smell, the beach looked so unpleasant that we didn’t swim or even spend time there. As for the room, despite the hotel being almost empty, we were placed in one of the back rooms rather than one facing the front. Of course, they didn’t *have* to give us a better room, but for guest satisfaction, a little extra care would have made a difference in such an empty hotel. We stayed on the ground floor and were happy with the room until a rather noisy couple checked in upstairs. The soundproofing is practically nonexistent — you can hear everything. The tap water in the hotel was salty and tasted weird, so unpleasant that we had to use bottled water to brush our teeth. We also found it disappointing that they charge extra 800 mexican pesos per person for the temazcal event, just like outside visitors. Since we were already staying at the hotel, this made our stay feel less valuable. Being by the beach, bugs and insect bites were expected and not a big issue — until heavy rain on our last day caused the bathroom to leak water. Since it was our last day, we didn’t bother asking to change rooms. On top of that, the day we planned to relax by the pool, they unexpectedly drained it for maintenance with no prior notice. Finally, at check-out, even though we had already paid all fees through Booking.com, they charged us an additional “environmental tax” that was never mentioned anywhere.
Every morning they bring coffee and cookies to the room. The coffee wasn’t great, but the staff were friendly and kind. On one night, we were lucky enough to witness baby sea turtles hatching and making their way to the ocean. Despite the seaweed, that was truly a magical experience.

United StatesOur room was closer to the main gate and they play super loud music across in the restaurant which was annoying. If you get a room near the beach you’ll be fine. Also, too many mosquitoes 🦟
The location is awesome, service is wonderful and they have their own parking which is a big thing on the tiny main strip of tulum beach clubs. The food is exceptional and so are cocktails. The room spacious.

United KingdomAlthough the property is gorgeous, it is situated close to a number of clubs/bars that are particularly loud. I stayed in room 19 and had read reviews saying it is loud - but being the closest room to the street it really was very disturbing. I could hear the lyrics to the songs it was so loud. That said, I put my noise cancelling headphones in and it didn’t bother me too much but is something to consider if you want a relaxing, quiet break.
The property was amazing. The beachfront access, jungle cabanas, ocean view. The interior decor is gorgeous and fits in with the Tulum eco chic vibe. The room was very clean, air conditioning worked very well, the shower was very warm. I loved the little wrap around veranda with a hammock and chairs where I could have my morning coffee. The beach club is fantastic and the staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. I found myself returning to Delek each day to enjoy the beach from there as I thought it had the best service and atmosphere for a chilled but vibes day on the beach. The beach club also isn’t too big so it doesn’t ever feel overcrowded and is nestled in beautiful palm trees with a lovely pool by the bar.
