Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesHonestly I can’t say anything I didn’t like. I gave the Hyatt a 9 but that was for the construction going on inside, however it didn’t detour or distract us from the great breakfast and wonderful room.
The location to all DC’s landmarks are great! Step outside the hotel and look up the street to see the Capital Building large as life! We valeted our car with the Hyatt staff where it was kept safe and secure. When we didn’t walk, we used Uber. The staff out front are phenomenal and friendly. They keep things moving out there! The Front Desk staff are professional and helpful. And the dining staff are exceptional! Always making sure we got enough coffee and juice in the morning. We were on the 11th floor, and since this location is undergoing renovations, they moved the dining area to the 11th floor; just a walk around the corner of our room. Though I was hesitant to stay because of current renovations, this did not detour from our stay one bit. Front desk notified us of a 2 hour water shutoff for a couple hours; and said if it was an inconvenience we could move to another room. This was not an inconvenience as we were out and about enjoying the day. The renovations should be done by Fall, 2025. Nonetheless, stay this Hyatt and enjoy everything about DC at this location. If we ever come back to DC, this is where we will stay!

United StatesVery expensive, especially, with renovations going on; plywood on the halls. A free coffee pot is not too much to expect for a $550 regular (nothing special) hotel room.
Clean, comfortable.

United StatesLocation to the museums and restaurants was too far for children to walk. The beds had very lightweight comforters within sheets and no additional blankets which were not adequate.
It met the criteria of having an indoor pool for my granddaughters. The staff was very helpful and we were able to check in early to leave our luggage for the afternoon.

United StatesI have stayed in much nicer rooms for less but I guess the location is what you pay for. I really didn't have any complaint except it was expensive. We paid as much for 2 days here as we would have paid for a whole week at other places we go such as the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.
The location was wonderful, the service was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the beds were very comfortable and the room was clean.

CanadaNo rooftop bar to enjoy the view.
Location was good. We were given a quiet room and although it was quiet from hotel noise (elevators and ice machine), there were still very noisy guests having full conversations in the hallways at all hours.

United StatesNot much. The lobby is one level down from the sidewalk, and the sole up-escalator was broken during our stay. The pool (which we used every day) ran out of towels once. Wish the room had a microwave.
Good location, near Amtrak, metro, and DC Circular bus stops. Pool. Helpful staff: our room was ready early, free luggage storage was provided from checkout time till train time, large sturdy loaner umbrellas were offered when needed. Some other reviews had mentioned having to deal with many homeless folks in the hotel area, but we didn't see any.

United Kingdomnothing much
we used the main restaurant for evening dinner one evening. We had large steaks and they were cooked to our liking and were delicious. We used the hotel bar every evening and found the drinks prices were OK. The location of the hotel in respect to Capital Hill and Union Station could hardly be any better. Both were about a 10 to 15 minute walk away. As for a busy avenue full of bars and restaurants, again about a 15 minute walk. I've marked the view from our hotel window down because all it did was look across the street at office blocks, so no real view of any consequence. That said it wasn't a horrible view of some back street either.
