Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PortugalPractically all the staff act like smart bastards, always trying to make a few extra bucks with every move. There's no real courtesy. It's just fake courtesy, which is only done in the hope of getting a little something extra. Services included in the price are provided without charge, because the staff is disappointed with the guest for not asking for extra services, etc. In a 5-star hotel, this is unacceptable behavior. It makes the guest feel permanently guilty, which is unacceptable and not up to the standards of a hotel of this level. The only exception was the young man at the front desk, who was promptly friendly and helpful. The guys at the entrance offer cabs as an alternative to calling Uber (because they surely get a commission), they are pushy, which is very unpleasant. Even though I'd called a taxi through Uber, the guys at the entrance were whispering between themselves and the taxi driver, asking for the room number (what for?), and you could see that they were always negotiating something, taking advantage of any situation to get a few more bucks, which was very discourteous. In the spa, the service is similar. Self-service use of the spa is free for guests, but the antipathy of the staff always makes you feel indebted to them for not having ordered any extra services. They give us the material we need for the spa free of charge, but with a great lack of sympathy. Once again, unacceptable behavior in a hotel of this caliber. My question is: is this the end of courtesy?
The hotel is rather charming and comfortable. The common areas are cozy and the bedrooms are in excellent condition. Bathroom is good, too. Breakfast is very good. Hamam and spa is free o charge for guests (self-service) and very pleasant.

Saudi ArabiaI can't think of anything specific. There was nothing negative that comes to mind.
The restaurant staff was amazing, food was delicious, and loved that services were available 24/7. The location was great. 2 minute walk to the Sultanahmet tram station. It was also close to a lot of restaurants/cafes/popular attractions.

CanadaSmell of smoke in washrooms and hallways was not pleasant. Non stop loud christmas music was irritating, they kept playing it even though Christmas was over. I requested 3 beds but got large double and a rollaway (which was uncomfortable).
All staff are very helpful, when it comes to carrying luggage or offering any help, they were excellent. Thanks to Cuneyd and everyone. The man that serviced our room 1106 from Dec 26 to Dec 30,was very polite and ensured that we have everything we needed. Breakfast was nice, often seemed short staffed, however the staff ensured everyone was taken care of, location is excellent.

Greece1. I’m vegan and the breakfast doesn’t have many options available 2 .The guy at the front desk should be more enthusiastic on improve his English level and less on young female costumers . I do get professionalism and trying to be nice with the costumers but at certain level . 3. People you should improve your English level in general , like you lost the paper with the stamp that passport control gave me at the airport the day we arrived and it was in my passport that you insisted seeing even though I entried the country with my id. And you kept telling me that you had no passport of mine at your hotel as your cameras showed you . Like study some English please . 4. About The 100 euro charge for the deposit let us know somehow beforehand ,what if I didn’t have enough money with me .
Central location next to Hagia Sophia and the tram station Pretty clean and nice bath stuff

BangladeshStaff do not speak English except for 1 or 2 people. Service for restaurant and bar was poor. Especially late night staff at bar refused to serve items that were promoted; and it took me 5 or 6 tries to get them to serve 1 drink to my guest. They need to improve significantly.

The location is good, the wifi signal is ok, selection of breakfast was also ok. The main problem is that the aircon constantly stopped heating the room, and we need to call the engineer all the time.

ItalyFor being a 5-star hotel, the breakfast buffet has a poor selection of food choices, and the quality is not worth the price. The juices are canned and coffee is served from a cheap machine, which is not acceptable for a 5 star hotel. The food would be finished almost 30 minutes before the breakfast end time. The room is not bad but not so special. The main lights can't be controlled from the bed side. It misses a wardrobe. The fan in the bathroom does not work. The transfer (to and from) the airport was 3 times more expensive than the market price. .
The hotel is centrally located within few minutes walking distance from the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The Spa Service was good. The rooms are clean and the staff were kind, friendly and professional.

United KingdomI would have appreciated if you had allergy information for breakfast. Shower floor is very slippy and I almost fell down 😅. I wished the hotel’s soundproofing was a bit better considering it’s 5 star. I could hear people talking next rooms and in corridors even after changing rooms (though this was tolerable).
The location was excellent. Everything is nearby. Their spa, hammam and massage were absolutely amazing ☺️! I visited them twice and had very relaxing time. Staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly bell persons and receptionists. I had noisy neighbours in my first room and couldn’t fall sleep. The receptionist kindly helped me change rooms at 2am and could have comfortable nights for the rest of my stay 😌!

It’s a shame others wise everything else was either decent or very good .
