Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaFor the location, and the price, I can complain about anything honestly. Maybe that the door was hard to open/close but once you understand how it works, it won't be a problem.
The location, the staff, metro station close, even thought it was near the Gare de l'Est, I felt very safe. I left the hotel at 4 AM to catch a bus to Saint-Denis Universite for Aerobus, and the station was also very close. First time for me to hear a hotel policy about leaving the room key at the reception, but honestly I was better this way. Lots of restaurants, bars, and a market around the hotel.

SpainWindows are not soundproof, it sounds like sleeping on the street and there are bars in the same street. Very noisy. It smells bad. There was no heating in April and mornings are still cold. Sink was clogged.
Close to Train Stations if you need to catch early or late train.

GermanyThe room wasn’t as presented in the picture. Everything seemed a bit rundown. The floorspace was almost entirely taken up by the bed, no space to leave your luggage anywhere, tiny handbasin and quite dark with window looking out to a dark light shaft.
Great location, most people seem to book it for its closeness to the stations. Area provides lots of restaurants and a market and the staff was friendly.

United KingdomThe bed was right next to the wall and the mattress had a tendency to slip away from the wall a bit, even when I moved the bed an inch away from the wall and put the mattress back. The shower was small and could do with a better wall fixture for the shower head and a better barrier than just a shower curtain to stop water going on the floor where you then have to stand on a couple of damp towels to soak it up while you brush your teeth or wash your hands.
Very kind and helpful host. Good location. Near to main train stations but quiet at night. I slept quite well on the relatively comfy bed and pillows despite being a sensitive person and light sleeper.

United KingdomEven from a quiet room at the back, the noise from the hallway was very loud. The bathroom is very small, dated and there was a bad smell. There was a fridge, but the plug wasn't long enough to reach the socket.
The room was sufficient for one night. The bed was comfortable. I was given the choice of a room out the back (quiet) or front (view) which was appreciated. Check out was 12 which I really appreciated! Brilliant location. Lovely staff, able to leave my bag there for free after check out while I walked around.

United KingdomTypical of the sort of family run hotels of the past. The old spiralling staircase is still there but a tiny one person one case modern lift has been squeezed in as well. In my room two large curtained windows overlooked the noisy bustling street below. The quirky en suite had haphazard plumbing but was fully functional although I couldn't find a plug for the washbasin. I always used to carry one with me. Other equipment included a lage TV, safe, fridge, kettle and espresso machine.

United KingdomIt's cheap & cheerful. I can't say any negatives because it's an inexpensive hotel and that's just fine, and its what I expected for the price. It's clean and functional.
Great location. Perfect for a 1 night stay. The staff were very friendly, which doesn't always happen in lower-end city hotels, and that really makes a big difference to the experience. It's a 10 minute walk from Gare du Nord & Gare de l'Est stations. Nearest Metro only 5 mins.

AustriaThe only grievances I had were with the WIFI, which was floating somewhere between not good and almost inexistent at times. Fix that and you get 9-10 points from me the next time.
It's a very nice little hotel in a very central location. The staff was beyond friendly, especially the concierge de matin made me feel very much at home. Merci beaucoup! The hotel is really small, you shouldn't be claustrophobic when using the elevator and the stairs are not for the fainthearted. I think I even was in a double room on my own, and it still felt kind of crowded, but that is Paris for you, I guess. :-))
