Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandThe receptionist, Mamdou was rude, aggressive, and unhelpful. He gave us poor advice. The breakfast was average. The lift only takes a couple of people and is slow, but that added to the quaint appeal!
The location was great - able to walk to most of the attractions. The Metro is very close. Lots of restaurants nearby. The receptionist, Karim, was the best I have ever dealt with. He spent ages helping me get a Metro pass, and went out of his way to be helpful. The hotel had lots of character and is quaint.

CanadaIt does need a bit of fixing up and some of it seems a little worn out. But I probably wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise. They were closing a day after we left to do renovations on the entire place. I just hope they don't renovate away all the charm! What a neat gem of a hotel!
I loved the French charm of this hotel. So fun to stay in a place with so much character in the heart of Paris. So many hotels look the same boring way nowadays, this was a hotel to remember. It was a delight to stay in.

United KingdomThe room was a little small for three and lacked a decent amount of daylight. There were no coffee/tea facilities in the room. These were minor problems though, and we could use the drinks machine in the breakfast area to get a drink when required.
The staff were very helpful, including the off duty member of staff who saw us a few minutes walk away from the hotel using google maps at 11pm and guessed we might be looking for his hotel so asked us if we needed help and gave us perfect directions! Thank you! The breakfast was very good and a vegan breakfast was especially provided. The location was excellent.

United StatesWhat turned out to be a Fire drill one morning initially raised alarm, and ended cutting off half that working day. The Wi-Fi went out mid-stream, off the last three days, and not repaired before my departure, most distressing for work arrangements and Paris meetings, etc., and necessitating awkward hours in a coffee shop nearby.
Convenient location minutes from Le Châtelet and the Seine, delightful historical building in quiet corner setting, tastefully decorated in antique style. the second "accessible" room offered was workable with my rollator, but would have been too tight for a wheelchair! Very helpful staff, good breakfast buffet.

IrelandPaper thin walls.
Fabulous room (no 503) with very large balcony. Decorated in gold and red with very comfortable bed. A few minutes stroll to Châtelet station. Pink Metro line is right by the hotel metro exit (rue Bertin Poiree), and is super easy to locate in this massive station!

United StatesOur family prefers fluffier pillows. There were issues with the shower/water lines in our room but it was all fixed while we were out during the day.
Charming French hotel that seems a little off the beaten path but in reality is very close to the Metro, the Seine, and cafes. Attentive and kind staff that spoke English.

RussiaI was searching for the room with a balcony, because I smoke. I had a balcony with no ashtray. When I asked for the ashtray they told me it was not possible to smoke even on the balcony, because the smoke comes in. I didn't use air conditioning, so probably that was why the smoke didn't try to get inside in my case.
The room was clean and had everything. The hotel has an elevator, what is nice for old buildings. The water was hot with good pressure (it is usually the problem in old buildings too). The guy on the reception was nice. The location was amazing - 2nd line from Sena, close to Notre Dame and Louvre. Breakfast was tasty, though the choice could be wider.

United KingdomSome English tea & milk in the room would have been nice (I do not like fruit tea) also coffee left more regularly). The carpet was slightly shabby but this is perhaps a little pedantic. Unfortunately the rubbish collection lorry is disturbing early morning (6 to 7ish). It was not enough to put me off but my partner was rather unhappy but then she is hard to please). The bathroom door (room 206) needs some shaving off the bottom as it binds on the floor & makes a bit of noise in the night! I would not be put off staying again. In the question below asking how satisfied I was, I would actually say between 3rd & 4th (best)
Clean comfortable room kept tidy each day. Decor whilst dated very nice. Good breakfast except the bread a bit disappointing for French bread (sliced bread for toast ok). Staff friendly & welcoming

CanadaThe water went out for a few minutes one morning. It was fixed by the time we were done breakfast and one of the staff even came to our table to say it was fixed.
Location was excellent, close to major attractions and metro. Groceries, restaurants and shops are walking distance. I also liked the welcome treats (water, macaroons in tote bag). We stayed in 3 places in France and that's this is the only hotel did that extra mile. For a tired traveller, that was pleasing. I ended up using the tote bag during my Paris travel instead of backpack. Breakfast was good as well especially the croissants.

United KingdomWe were warned when we arrived that the walls are very thin and not to make too much noise, which we tried to abide by. Unfortunately on our second night there was a lady next door to us who thought it would be a good idea to speak to her friend in America on speakerphone at 2 in the morning. To be fair the hotel dealt with it once I showed up at reception in my pyjamas, but I think a little signage wouldn’t go amiss. The rooms were clean but if you are not a fan of mold spots in the shower then this might not be the place for you. Or just don’t look up.
We were in Paris for the Olympics. The location of this hotel made it easy to reach the venues, tourist areas and a wide variety of dining options. Most central locations were walkable, and the Seine is just a couple of streets away. There were also convenient metro and train station options, for example Disneyland, the airport and Versailles could each be reached on a single train without changing. Inside the hotel the decoration might be seen as dated, but this is an old part of the city. It was comfortable and warm and packed with interesting features such as exposed walls. Staff were on the whole friendly. Breakfast was basic but adequate for the money. Rooms are relatively small but this was reflected in the pricing, which I think was fair for the location, accommodation and reflecting high demand during the Olympics.

AustraliaWe felt the breakfast, both range and quality could be better, given the price. The breakfast room is tiny with not many tables but this was not a problem during our stay
